Next year Pac-Man is going to be 30 years old. Namco is going to celebrate with a new game developed by Hirokazu Yasuhara - the man responsible for Sonic the Hedgehog.
A new game celebrating the anniversary will be focusing on the male 'pizza slice' that has been chased around the maze for decades now - and is in fact a real Pac-man game! I am very curious what it'll turn out to be but also a bit anxious as it is hard to top the great Pac-man C.E. which I regard as the ultimate Pac-Man game besides Ms. Pac-Man. Why am I anxious? Well we do know is that - contrary to Pac-Man C.E. - for this game the original Pac-Man-creator Toru Iwatani has not been involved. But Sonic is a great game and I am inclined to put my faith in Hirokaza Yasuhara. We'll see.
When this new game will hit the shelves or which platforms the game is going to be released for is still unknown. But it sure is something to look forward to.
