It's a staple of the RTS and TBS genre (at least on the campaign or map screen). It's interesting how Might & Magic separated the two--the top-down stuff for Heroes of M&M (TBS) and 3D, first-person for its RPGs (M&M). Then of course you have games that utilize more than one.
I think of RTS games as almost isometric these days, so I don't really count those anymore.
