As you no doubt noticed, there's a placeholder cover now for "Wii Fitness for Dummies". Not sure what the final cover will look like, but I'm hoping it's not the baggie pants girl. ;-)
Anyway, we got into EA Sports Active: Personal Trainer heavily for the first time last night, which will be Section II of the new book. I came away fairly impressed. It kicks your ass far more than Wii Fit does, but also in a very different way. It's far more like doing what you do with free weights than Wii Fit is, with the added bonus of having simultaneous multiplayer. Good stuff, and highly recommended for you Wii owners looking for a great workout (be sure to get the $20 multiplayer pack if you want to play with someone else!).
We also sampled Jillian Michaels Fitness Ultimatum 2009 the previous week in preparation for the 2010 version, which will be Section III of the book. Man, what a turkey of a program, very poorly designed and last generation tech (at best). What's nice is that it's fairly different from Wii Fit Plus and EA Sports Active in that it focuses on more explosive movements. So hopefully the 2010 version smooths out the technical issues and enhances its strong points. Regardless, I think we chose a good triumvirate for the book, as each program can definitely complement the other.
