Any luck with Windows Vista?

BillBillHas anyone here had any luck installing the Windows Vista Beta? I've made two attempts to upgrade my Windows XP Pro. I couldn't even get to the download for two days after release, and it took me two tries with my DVD burner to burn the darn thing (some kind of weirdo ISO may be the culprit). Then, I had to clear up 11 gigs on my C drive, which was very tough due to my partitions (only 30 gigs on the C, the rest on G). Then I had to convert from FAT32 to NSFT. Then I was asked to uninstall my AVG virus program and restart the installer...As you can see, I was pretty determined to get the beta running. But alas, it was to no avail.

The upgrade takes about 2 hours before it finally sputters to a stand-still. Eventually, my monitor stops receiving a signal after the hard drive stops spinning. I reset, and the upgrade program tries again, but hits the same log jam. On the third try, it automatically rolls back to my original configuration (which takes another half hour or so).

I don't intend to try to install the beta again. It would've been nice to get the chance to review it for AA, but I've only got so much patience. If anyone else has succeeded where I've failed, please, let me know if the effort was worth it. I can only hope that the official release won't be so frustrating to install.

For those interested, I'm running an AMD Athlon XP 2400+ with a gig of ram and an Nvidia GeForce 6200 card. I'm sorry to say I have an MSI K7 motherboard based on the Nvidia 2 Chipset. The DVD burner is a Plextor.
