I play the STEAM version of Magic the Gathering off and on. I think they did an excellent job with the interface--takes a little getting used to, and the timers can suck, but once you get a feel for it it's nice. It's also nice not having to argue all the time about the rules and keep track of all those tokens and such.
There's always going to be people out there who get off on beating noobs. Bullies will be bullies, I guess, whether that's the big kid beating up the smallest kid on the playground or the guy with the $1200 deck endlessly beating noobs at MTG.
I have an idea to make a shit ton of money.
1. Make a great MMO that you can play for free.
2. Have the world be open PVP at all times.
3. Every day hold an auction. The highest bidder gets to be invincible for 24 hours and can kill everyone with impunity.

Think it'd sell?
