Super Robot Wars - The definitive game series for Japanese mecha fan...

Any fan of Japanese giant robots here? I like mecha anime and manga since I was a kid! Some years ago a friend of mine - who now lives in Thailand - introduced me to the Super Robot Taisen, aka Super Robot Wars game series (link to Wikipedia entry). I loved these games at first sight! Really, I buy a new game system only if there is at least one SRW game and I cannot manage to play it via emulators.

A new SRW was announced for the PS2, "Super Robot Wars Z", with many new and old series never starred before in a SRW. Some of them where released some time ago even there in the USA, ie Eureka Seven or The Big 0.

Conceptually I'm a fan of anything like that, but I'm afraid I haven't been specifically involved in anything related in years. I was intrigued by Steel Battalion on the Xbox, but not enough to buy it with the included controller: http://www.amazon.com/Capcom-Steel-Battalion/dp/B00006ZCCD/ref=pd_sim_vg... . Still wouldn't mind getting it someday though...

I did just order Iron Soldier for the Atari Jaguar: http://www.videogamecritic.net/jaguarfl.htm#Iron_Soldier , one of the few major omissions from my collection for the system... (I also have the somewhat similar, though far worse Metalhead on the Sega 32X: http://www.videogamecritic.net/32xmz.htm#Metalhead)

I also have several other Mech games, including Infocom's vintage Battletech game, which intrigues me a great deal, but again, I have yet to give it a spin: http://www.mobygames.com/game-group/infocomactivision-battletech-series

I used to also love Voltron and related series as a kid in the 80's...
