I think we should all hammer out a good outline of things that need doing, then we can put a timeline around it, perhaps giving a week or two between each goal to give us time to do other things, but still get it done in a reasonable amount of time. Here's something VERY rough. Please add to it, change it, etc. (this is total off-the-cuff, top-of-head stuff)

1 - Set menu items (meaning Home, Latest Issue, Blogs, Books, Store, Games, etc., whatever); In other words, what will the top and sub-level menus be as we see it right now

2 - Put up a Website design as a placeholder. Simple, simple, simple, but something that still reflects the look that we basically want. Perhaps we mock up a design first? This is step 2 after #1.

3 - Make sure we duplicate what is necessary from the old Website (ads, partnerships, links, games, whatever); In other words, make everything functional so we have a fully working Website. (this one make take longer than two weeks)

4 - With a fully functional Website, we now finalize all the visual elements.

5 - Test, test, test. Produce Content.

6 - Produce Content.

7 - Start to plan a firm lauch date (about 1 month out from here).

8 - Produce Content.

9 - Invite a few AA regulars over to kick the tires for us and give us feedback.

10 - Post our content.

11 - Test, test, test.

12 - Cut-over to Neo and let the world in. Keep the old Website up, but disable anything new being added to it, directing everyone here with a banner there (the only way people will be able to get to the old Website will be with old links).

13 - Begin to plan our first print issue, a combination of "best of" and the new stuff. (all future issues should be that combination until we run out of "best of")

14 - Produce Content and have fun...

Good points...

Good points...

I'm still unclear on what the Books section means. Is it for Tutorials written by the staff on various topics?

A mock up is a great idea... I might work out a very rough one tonight.

Matt created that, I

Matt created that, I believe. I believe it is in reference to books that we author. Perhaps link to a page to buy books by the AA staffers. The menu structure as it is now is just place-holder, we still need to determine major and minor sections.

Let's address Point #1 and Create a Menu Structure

Let's take a stab at Point #1: "1 - Set menu items (meaning Home, Latest Issue, Blogs, Books, Store, Games, etc., whatever); In other words, what will the top and sub-level menus be as we see it right now"

I don't have time right now, but hopefully later tonight. If anyone has time, take a stab at it. Think about sub-menus, if applicable, too. Also, a very short description after each menu item would be helpful to let everyone else know what you mean.
