Vintage Games Personal Copies are in!
I just got my big box of Vintage Games books in today! I'm guessing this means that Amazon will be shipping orders very soon, perhaps as early as this week.
I can't wait to read your reviews of our project on Amazon!

According to Amazon.com, my copy's estimated arrival date is April 2. Has the publisher shipped early, or is Amazon being real conservative in its ship date?

Well, the publisher would definitely get the copies from the factory first, which is how we got the few advance copies and now our personal copies (only 10 though, which is barely enough to go around to family). I've seen earlier ship dates on some of the international sites for the book, so Amazon US could certainly be conservative. My father pre-ordered several copies and, using my Amazon Prime, was able to get two day shipping, so he should be among the first to get it, assuming that no one else did one day shipping. I'll let you know if he gets them, but I'd say we're still looking at mid-March at the earliest for wide release.

IIRC Amazon UK mumbled something about March 16 but they just sent me a mail that they dispatched the book - together with another one ('Racing the Beam' - don't know when I'll have the time to actually read them ;-)

Shockingly, I just discovered that several of my reviews, including "Dungeons & Desktops," were apparently deleted by Amazon.com!!! I reviewed D&D several months ago (among other books), but my reviews are nowhere to be found, and I don't know why! There was certainly nothing offensive in my reviews, and I know they were posted, since I went back and re-read them (without logging on under my account). I doubt I did anything stupid on my end, so I think it's Amazon's problem (I am, after all, a guy with at least 25+ years of general computer experience).
Since my reviews were written "off-the-cuff," I didn't save them. (So much for "general computer experience," since I didn't save them.) On the one hand, I want to re-review the books that deserved it, but on the other hand, it makes me wary of posting more reviews of books, including "Vintage Games." Has anyone else had this problem?
P.S. Strangely, some of my other reviews are still there.....

Hi, Rob, I think you should contact Amazon's tech support for that. It sounds pretty serious, and I'm very upset that we missed out on reading your review!!
They'll try again coming monday and I'll be waiting for them ;-)

Just got an email from Amazon today! My copy of Vintage Games book has been dispatched and is on its way.
I live in the UK, so not much longer to wait then compared to the US.
