well it was a chunk, but

well it was a chunk, but consider its about teh price of one new Console game.. I think I will have more fun with all the old games then one new one.

lands of Lore 1 and 2 - never played 2 and 3 was bad..
Red Baron Pack- some WW! plane actions shoudl be a blast
Wing Commander 3- I kinda put this as my favorite Space shooter (even over Xwing VS Tiefighter)
Star Control 1&2- never played 2 (to completion)
StoneKeep - had to use a save to get past a game breaking bug in original
Icewind Dale (all 1 &2)
baulder gate (all 1&2)
AD&D DEmons Stone - never played this one looks liek an action type game
Ultima Underworld 1&2- the first true 3D (all directions dungeon crawler)
Dungeon Keeper- thouhgt i had this but I didnt...
Edge of Chaos (independacne war 2)- IW was the best spaceship simulation out there.. not fighter, but SHIP! hundered of crew
Sacrafice- cool fps rts blend.. loved htis game
Realms of ARkania (all 3)- 3 of the most detial orentated RPGS of all time (shoes wear out and you take damge when you have none while walking).

anybody else buy anything?

I've been thinking about

I've been thinking about trying to implement the 360 controller or a gamepad directly into my next game. It's using the mouse currently, so it'd be interesting to see if I could map it onto the analog controls. Would definitely have a huge impact on the gameplay.

I ended up buying a wired 360 controller. Love it! I love not having to wait for the wireless ones to connect on the 360, no batteries, and of course almost every PC game has support for it. Great purchase.

I actually like the wireless dongle for the PC simply because you can connect up to four controllers like on the 360 without having to worry about plugging them in. I also don't miss the days of extension cords on my controllers from my TV/console to my couch. With that said, there are definite advantages to having the plug... In fact, sometimes you can't avoid it, like with my PS3/PC steering wheel or flight stick--they both have multiple wires and I have to sit in a different spot (away from the couch) when using them.

Going to get almost all the Origin stuff, and Bullfrog stuff ( that I dont have) and a couple RPG's.. dang.. Wing Commander 3.. i need a cheap easy to use Joystick.. ebay time.

Why not just get an adapter for your 360 controller? That's what I use as my primary these days and it works well. I have the wireless dongle so it works just like on the 360. Of course you can just plug in and use a wired 360 controller, but few of us have a wired one...

I'm pretty sure you can use a PS3 controller directly as well (or maybe you need a driver), though I haven't tried it for obvious reasons (no need).

I do have the 360 wireless thing for my PC I guess i never really thought about it. I used it alot on emulators but very few games. Maybe its my anti-consolization of games showing through.. But .. yes.. good idea. When i did my arcade machine to TV conversion i picked up 4- 360 gamepads ( all came with dongle, was a BUY.COM sale for $32 each.. figured was good deal) so we could all play guantlet. that would be ideal.. I know im just going to have to bite the bullet sometime and get comfortabel with gamepads.. keyboard mouse is hard habit to break for us old timers.

just looked, even at 50% off i have $80 worth of games picked out on GoG.. good time to "legit" some games.. Pick up and pay for some I have never paid for from the past. I cant change the past, but I can try to right it, even if its just a little.

I have the Ulitma Vii On my

I have the Ulitma Vii On my list too.. and Magic Carpet, maybe my favorite Bullfrog game ever. I been kinda on fence as I dont have the correct CONTROL setup for it.. i used to use a joystick and keyboard.. no longer own a joystick (do have a flightstick set, but its just to bulky to play a game like Magic Carpet On) I been digging throuhg all the GoG stuff adding to my wishlist for the 12th and TODAY is the new PORTAL Defcen grid addon... to much to play atm..

GOG is running a 50% off almost everything sale starting Dec 12th according to Shacknews. Also a free copy of Empire Earth: Gold Edition for 48 hours starting on the 12th. I have a few in my wish list that I was on the fence.. going to be some strain on my pocketbook for sure.. great sale.. wish it was in middle of Feb or something though.. Dec is already a bad month for spending.. to many presents to buy.

I've purposely stopped myself from buying from their last few deals (figured even if I paid more later it would be better to do it "on demand" when I actually "needed" the game), but I just may not be able to resist this one. I'll probably want to score Ultima VII complete, among a few other key items just for the convenience...
