My book on game design!

Hi everyone! I really need to post here more often. But, between AURO and several other smaller projects, I've been super busy!

Anyway, I wanted to let you guys know about my brand new book: Game Design Theory: A New Philosophy for Understanding Games. It's sort of a treatise on my controversial way of thinking about what games are and what to value when making them. It goes through the history of games and explains some of the ups and downs we've experienced through the lens of this new paradigm. I think it's really worth reading for anyone with a serious interest on the topic.

If that's not enough, it also includes a foreword by Dr. Reiner Knizia! If you don't know who he is, then I feel really bad about your terrible life! Seriously, though - he's probably the world's most prolific game designer, having designed upwards of 500 games in his lifetime, something like 50 of which are considered top games by boardgame enthusiasts.

So, yeah! You can buy the book here: http://www.amazon.com/Game-Design-Theory-Philosophy-Understanding/dp/146...

Oh yeah - it's also published by the same publisher that the lovely Matt Barton's Dungeons & Desktops was published by: AK Peters (although they actually died right before I signed on formally with them, so it's their higher up, CRC Press).

Also, I notice we have this fancy BOOKS tab up top that links to this page: http://www.armchairarcade.com/neo/node/2212 - perhaps, if you guys want to fill it up a bit, someone can add my book to the list.

So enjoy, and tell ALL your friends! Hooray!

Congratulations, Keith! Man,

Congratulations, Keith!

Man, I thought I had some trolls on my D&D book. You must be doing something right if half love and half hate it. Touched a nerve or two, I take it? :)
