GameMID Android Handheld - Update on availability - 6-28-2013

The review video was watched a lot - and I really mean - A LOT. Thanks for that. I got a ton of questions on the device and thanks for all the feedback. A lot of the questions were regarding the availability of the device and things like pricing etc. At the time I created the review no information on this was available yet so I forwarded those questions to the producers of the machine and today they came back with the following information:

sales@gamemid.com is the email address that can be used to ask questions regarding the device
http://www.gamemid.com will be the website containing more information on the device.

Mind you I/We am/are not affiliated with the company making the device, this video is to address the many questions from the viewers and to point them in the right direction.

Preview Of The Upcoming TEK807D Android Gaming Handheld

On May 10th I got the chance to take a look at the soon to be available TEK807D Android Gaming Handheld. I take a look at the JXD S7300 and the Archos Gamepad for comparison and show what's better in this new TEK807D device. This video is a hardware overview and a look at the specs as well as seeing the device in action in a sneak preview of it. It is going to be sold in various places in the world under a different brand name. Yet inside the device is the same. Sellers can brand the unit and customize how the specs are. Like a rear viewing camera, battery size etc. It's expected to launch in Europe this summer for €150 or under $200 US.
Read more about the hardware specs below.

The Archos Gamepad - a lot of things are fixed - revisited after 1st firmware update

My 1st review of Dec 24th revisited. With the new firmware update I'd give this device a much higher end-score. 7.5 out of 10 or 75% of 100. Much if not all software issues with buttons cancelling each other out have been removed with the firmware update. Also the lag and flickering screen with the Archos mapping tool have been removed. Very nice. It brings the device up to a standard it really should have been when it was released. Read more below.

ARCHOS Gamepad Review / In-depth look (the long 1h57m edition)

Update January 2nd 2013: There is a new firmware update for the Gamepad that is supposed to fix the buttons cancelling each other out. Preliminary testing shows no lag when analog nub is used. More testing will be done and I probably will end up doing a new review as this update does seem to drastically fix all the things that were wrong with the device with the release firmware. Still too early to tell but I will definitely update my review. Read more below.
