Fancy PantsI just found a very fun Flash platform game called Fancy Pants Man that I thought you guys might like. It has a nice hand-drawn look that reminds me of doodles come to life and vaguely of Paper Mario. It also has catchy music to help you get through that last hour and a half of your 9 to 5. Enjoy!
While it's not actually a game, I thought our readers might enjoy taking Jake Mandell's hearing test. It's a free FLASH application that takes about 6 minutes to go through. I'd suggest wearing headphones and turning off the iTunes before starting, though. It's more fun than you think! Hopefully you folks haven't been blasting your eardrums with to many SID files cranked to 11...Link via Gizmodo.
Asteroids--Well, SortaHoly Asteroids! Head over to cogames right now to play Multiplayer Asteroids! Yes! It's about time folks starting exploiting the multiplayer potential of Flash games (Perhaps I will set my sights on this kind of niche soon). I couldn't manage to survive more than a few minutes with this game, but thankfully, respawning is fast and easy.
TechUh...Look, I'll just post a link to this retro-style game called Diarrhea Dan. While it's not pornographic, you probably shouldn't consider this work-safe unless your boss has a real sense of potty humor. The sounds and graphics are very faithfully old school.
PSPEr... well sort of anyways. The Flash player that is contained in the latest firmware is compatible with two of our flash games on the site: Pac Man and Tetris. They are executed very slowly but are somewhat playable. Any of you PSP-owners, give it a try. So it is possible to get something homebrew running op on the PSP. Just create a webpage with a compatible flash file and the PSP will play that. There's a c64 emulator out there for flash9. The state of the PSP's flash support will not allow such things - but it does start me thinking.
C-64A Flash-based C-64 Emulator has been released. I have known about java-based emulators for quite some time, but this is the first time a Flash-based C-64 emulator has surfaced. It needs the new Flash 9 player (which is still in beta at the time) and with this Flash version the complexity of Flash-programs is significantly enhanced in my opinion. I remember Flash as just having some scripting capabilities, but it has turned into a genuine programming language.
