In Armchair Arcade's fun new series, we ask the provocative question, "What makes a particular videogame sexy?" Each week's feature will explore some of the many intriguing approaches game designers have taken over the years to make their games more sensual, not just with increasingly detailed graphics, but also with romantic and seductive gameplay. While some of the games we'll be looking at are unabashedly low brow, displaying their raw sexuality like a badge of honor, other games in contrast are remarkably subtle, often downplaying their suggestive themes.
This week's entry, written by Chris Kennedy, is on Sega's over-the-top hack and slash action game, Bayonetta. Enjoy, help spread the word, and of course, let us know what you think:

Just a little story about my first experience with the import SEGA MEGADRIVE console!
Just for fun!

In this video I am trying to play Sega Karts Special Edition on the Saturn and I talk a bit about the game, life, the universe and everything on the side.
This game is fun if you are into your old school PC-VGA-like Kart games, mind you this is not much like Mario Kart and the likes. This pretends to be a serious game and it sort of is.
Again experimenting with various video setups to see what works and what doesn't.

This disc is a must-have for Saturn gamers, especially if you want Arcade Perfect ports of Outrun, Space Harrier and After Burner II on a home console.

I know a lot of you guys are big fans of the Dreamcast, so prepare to be traumatized by this episode. Josh acknowledges that there might be plenty of other reasons for the short production cycle of one of the best consoles ever, but his description of the inexplicable attitude of Sony of Japan's attitude towards their American branch is pretty damn revealing, if not downright disgusting.
You can also download the video here, but don't forget to tip the bard first. A few bucks and a few minutes of your time is all I ask for all my work.

Pre-orders for GunLord, a Eurostyle Platformer with emphasis on exploring huge worlds and blasting enemies, are now available for the Sega Dreamcast, SNK Neo Geo MVS, and SNK Neo Geo AES. The game features 8 stages of exciting 2D game play with over 45 unique enemy types: Blast yourself through giant landscapes, explore caverns and reveal all secrets!
Fans of classic games like Turrican will feel right at home here. GunLord looks and plays like an original full commercial release--on the Neo Geo platforms it even has the price to match!

Streets of LitigationThis is a story that's sure to get you upset if you're a fan of remakes: Streets of Rage Fan Remake Taken Down At Sega's Request. It looks like the developer (Bomber Games) really went all-out, adding a HUGE amount of new material. Unfortunately, it all came down immediately after goons at SEGA sent them the old C&D. I came across this news via Rampant Coyote, who has a strong position on the issue--why put all that effort into a risky venture when you obviously have what it takes to make an original title?

An overview and unboxing for Pier Solar and the Great Architects for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive. This specifically covers the USA Posterity edition of the game. It's an amazing homebrew creation involving hundreds of volunteers and years of effort.
By the way, Super Thunder Drive III is a clever fake, and underneath the cartridge is a certificate of authenticity card. Mine is Copy number 11 of 800 for the Posterity edition! Oh, and the "posterity" bit means my name along with the hundreds of others who pre-ordered this edition are mentioned in the manual...
