Amiga Emulation on OSX

Amiga emulation - especially CD32 emulation - is well what can I say "worse than on any other platform." The Amiga was a very versatile and well-known computer in its time with a lot of multimedia capabilities that you'll find on todays computers too. The OSX has sort of been left out in the cold when it comes to an easy to use emulator. If you want a quick and solid emulation experience you might opt to install Windows on your Mac and use the Windows emulators on that platform. But today I go back to OSX based Amiga emulation and I have discovered that there might be some more Amiga emulators out there for Mac OSX than I initially thought. Let's take a look at them:

Virtualization Software for Mac OSX Tested and Benchmarked

Mac-users, especially of the older power PC systems (G3, G4 and G5), who need to use Windows or DOS-based applications need to use Virtualization software. On Power PC Virtual PC seems to be the best choice in my own experience, although Qemu and Virtual Box are also quite usable.

Lxdream 0.8.2 Released - A Linux- and OSX-based Sega Dreamcast Emulator

Lxdream is a Linux-based emulator for the Sega Dreamcast system that is currently under active development. The version number indicates that it is still a little ways to go until a 1.0 version but quite a number of demos and even some games are running. The latest versions boasts OSX support!

Geometry Wars outside of the (X)box (360) on regular Windows XP!

This retro-style fast paced 'must buy an Xbox 360'-game has become available for the PC platform as Geometry Wars has finally left the realm of the Xbox 360 - read more below.

Using computer- and console-emulators on OSX Intel based Macintoshes

I've revisited quite a few of the emulators I discussed earlier in my Retrogaming and Beyond on Mac OS X - article on various intel macintoshes ranging from a +- 1.4Ghz Intel machine with Ati 3D accelerated graphics to a +- 2.8Ghz Intel machine with Ati 3D accelerated graphics. Just to see if those new Mac's are up to the challenge (two Powerbooks, a macmini core solo and mini core duo, an acertosh and asustosh)
