I don't know for sure, but my initial thought is that since it's a modem, you would not want to do a power cycle on a regular basis since it can take a relatively long time for the modem to reconnect, and it may outright fail. It's "safer" to use this device with a dedicated router because the modem remains connected, it's just the router reestablishing the network link after the power cycle.

I bought a Netreset deceive. Have not used it and have questions please?

* Think my router/modem is combined…I have that plugged into a battery backup as I have other units plugged in the battery backup because I have very limited plugs available.
Question: WILL THIS NETRESET UNIT WORK WHEN PLUGGED INTO THAT BATTERY BACKUP UNIT??

* iIf my modem/router is combined.
Question: if my modem/router is combined, WHAT PLUG IN THE NETRESET DO I PLUG INTO??

Thank you,
David Grigg
