Guide to Finding the Safest Online Casinos to Play

May 28, 2018 Posted by Jonathan Adams Editorial No Comments

In the latest in our continuing series on gambling technology, we talk about ways to find a safe online casino.

There are many online casinos today that offer amazing user experience to the growing numbers of enthusiastic gamblers around the world. However, there are also casinos that lack security, which has proven to be very important to the online gambling industry. In this guide, we have covered a few important points that you need to consider to find the best online casino to play your favorite games.

Traits of Safe Online Casinos

  • They have fair payouts and games
  • They are licensed and regulated by a reputable Gaming Authority
  • Uses the best encryption technology and reliable payment options

.

Factors to Consider When Looking For a Secure Online Casino

  • Licensing & Regulation

You will often find licensing and regulatory information of a casino at the bottom of the homepage. Because of the different legislations enacted in different parts of the globe, the gaming authority and country you choose to play with is very important. If you are a player from Europe, you should look for online casinos that are licensed and regulated by gaming authorities in the U.K., Gibraltar, Malta, Alderney, Kahnawake or the Isle of Man.

It is important for players to be vigilant when choosing an online casino licensed in Costa Rica. While it is true that there are many highly reputable gambling sites that have been licensed there, the fact that the country is less restrictive when compared to other common licensing domains is an issue for players who are looking for a safe deal. The country doesn’t restrict casino operators to an extent that it doesn’t even ban players from America as other countries are duty bound to do.

  • Legislation

If you a player from the United States, you should keep in mind the fact that legislation is stricter and as a gambler, you should only play on casino sites regulated by the gaming authority in your state. So, if you are a gambler living in New Jersey and Nevada, you should find online casinos which have been registered by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement and the Nevada Gaming board respectively.

  • The type of gaming software used

Many online casinos use games developed by leading software providers. These include global media giants such as Microgaming, Playtech and NetEnt. These developers create excellent games with marvelous sound and graphics.

Some online casinos use Realtime Gaming software (RTG), mainly because RTG is the only prevailing provider which allows players in New Jersey and Nevada to register and play. Unfortunately, RTG is not strict when it comes to whether an operator is licensed in the right way or not. So, you are likely to come across rogue casinos using this software. There are external audit companies such as Gaming Associated Pty Ltd, Thawte, Ecogra and TST that test and review games. To find out the company use, scroll down to the bottom of the casino’s website

  • Who owns the online casino?

Every online casino has an “About Us” page. This page should feature information that’s transparent such as the owners of the online casino, the phone number of the company, where the company is registered and so on. If you notice that the casino’s “About Us” page seems fake or is too frilly, you will want to walk way and find another casino.

If you find there nothing other than a gaping hole, you may want to try the “Terms and Conditions” section since many online casinos tends to include any important information they have into this section without a second thought. But if you have tried all these methods and have found nothing, it is recommended that you think twice about choosing the casino in question.

  • Check if the casino site is secure

Many people may be confused as to what the term “secure” means with regards to the internet. If you are in this category, then you don’t need to worry because there is a good explanation for this. When you visit a website, information is sent from your PC to the web server and vice versa. This information is usually transmitted as plain text. This means that anyone can see it. Basically, the information is transmitted to many servers that consist of several computers. It is for this reason that information published online must be encrypted. This is usually done through SSL (Security Socket Layer). This technology employs a range of key exchanges between your browser and the server your computer is communicating with to encrypt the information before the information passed across the web. Basically, for a web page to be considered safe, it must have an active SSL layer.

Don't be shocked if you fail to prioritize security.

Safe Online Casino Payouts

These days, research is important and has become easy and vastly possible to conduct-all thanks to the advent of the internet. Actually, it is not challenging to find an online casino that’s safe if you know what you are looking for, and in no time, you will know how to spot red flags. The first thing that you need to ask is about the payment methods employed by a particular casino and how fast payouts are made by the said casino. Does the casino in question offer reputable financial partners such as MasterCard, America Express and Visa as payment and withdrawal methods? If you find that an online casino doesn’t offer these, then you should look for another casino.
