Ways how technology and video games can help you with studying

December 14, 2018 Posted by Abigail Massimo Editorial 2 Comments

Do you think that it is impossible to play and study at the same time? We can provide you with several ways how technology and video games can help you with studying. We can prove you this!

There is a lot to learn from computer games, many things that can help solid education and can increase the “craving” of knowledge, discovery of new things. The simple fact that there is a need for more attempts to complete a mission from a game makes the little ones learn by themselves.

Perseverance is the word that children learn very quickly through video games on Smart TV or computer. Even school should copy this game system – why? Any mistake can be easily rectified by using at its maximum level the education process put up front by video games. It is a good way to make students spend more time studying in a productive and interactive way to enhance their education and succeed in life after graduation.

Technology in the education system

There is skepticism about the transformation of the school into something fun, considering that studying doesn’t have this specification in its evolution during the time and, as we could observe, it should not be as pleasant as when the little ones have the controller in hand. A lot of fuss was made around the idea of “gamble”, transforming campaigns into real “quests” as in computer games. The motivational dynamics of these games can be translated into real life, the experience is truly exciting. If you don’t believe us, then try to pay for essay and check out the information from other professional writers.

Studies conducted over the years on children show that, regardless of the intelligence coefficient, children who played different video games, which have a complex structure, at small ages had better results in math in high school. Various experiences, exposing the child to different objects, places, and activities, stimulate the development of brain areas responsible for memory and reasoning. So, why don’t we use technology to make things simpler?

Video games – a life changer?

Psychologists talk about two types of problems: convergent (those that have only one correct solution) and divergent (with more correct solutions). Children who are more involved in open or divergent games – which can have more solutions (for example, cube or stories which can change organically) have better results when they have to solve in a creative way any problem. So, it’s good to make sure the little one alternates between ‘closed’ games (puzzle types) and ‘open’ games which can be used in many ways.

Let’s think to a specific situation to understand better the perspective described: as you play a video game, there comes a moment when you get stuck. Whether we’re talking about Super Mario or GTA, we’ve all gone through this. In those moments, you feel frustrated, angry, and you are going to throw something else into something. As years go by, you learn to control your temper and find various solutions when an insurmountable problem occurs. You take a break of 10-20 minutes, you rest your brain, and you will see things change radically.

You look at the different problem, and you have a bigger chance to get to the next level. The same way we work is whether we talk about hard times or whether we’re talking about day-to-day problems or timely completion of projects.

So, the next time you think that instead of playing it is better to study in an old fashion way, think twice. It doesn’t matter if you play to recreate or you use video games in the educational process, as long as you feel comfortable. Have you ever thought that play is so important in your child’s education?

An interesting point. Haven’t really thought about the video games as of a tool to learn something but now, it seems so obvious thanks to this explanation. Now I have to convince my teachers 😉
