The top-tier PoE items to die for
Foolish Exile may not always pay PoE items too much mind as he or she slays monster after monster in Wraeclast in a bid for more PoE currency. The truth, though, is that certain PoE items can play a crucial part in your PoE experience. On top of the damage you can dish out or the protection you can get with them, you can even make the bank by selling them. Moreover, rare items can be total game-changers should you manage to acquire them.
The wise Exile is one with a keen eye; able to distinguish and separate the wheat from the chaff, so to speak. Here’s a look at the top rare items you need to acquire in the PoE trade your journey through the perilous landscapes of Wraeclast.
What Are Rare PoE Items?
Before we get to the core of things, though, let’s define what exactly makes a PoE item rare. First of all, rare items are much more expensive than Unique ones. This owes to the fact that they can be mirrored by their owner and the copies can then be sold.
There are also end-game rares. These items command a high price in the PoE trade since they have to be crafted. Needless to say, the crafting process can be arduously long and very much dependent on sheer luck. And this is why most of the items listed here cost a pretty penny—hundreds of thousands of exalted orbs!
Dragon Rend
What’s widely considered to be the best one-handed weapon in Path of Exile also happens to be (surprise, surprise!) the most expensive. It’s a worthy investment, though, since it boasts a massive 850 raw physical DPS—a stunning number even by two-handed weapon standards. Should you be low on PoE currency, a copy of this Synthesised Siege Axe will yield you 250 Exalted Orbs.
Physical Damage: 300-544
Critical Strike Chance: 6.90%
Attacks Per Second: 2.02
Weapon Range: 11
Entropy Grinder
This rare item not only has one of the most kickass names, but it also happens to be the best Physical Spell Caster Sceptre. Its popularity (and viability) is evident in the fact that it was once the most duplicated item in Path of Exile—there were over 50 copies made. But like all rare items, it comes at a lofty price. To get it, you’ll need to fork over 100 Exalted Orbs along with a Mirror. By that alone, we can estimate an original to fetch around 5,000 to 10,000 Exalted Orbs!
Physical Damage: 50-94
Critical Strike Chance: 6.00%
Attacks Per Second: 1.30
Weapon Range: 11
Corruption Bite
A total Spell Caster’s delight, the Corruption Bite commands a fixed fee of 100 Exalted Orbs. When you do the math, its original can be valued at around 5,000 to 10,000 Exalted Orbs. However, it’s worth noting that this can fluctuate mainly due to the Lightning-based Spell Caster Ascendancy class in Path of Exile 2. Convenience is the Corruption Bite’s calling card as it utilizes just a single Elemental Damage type.
Physical Damage: 29-53
Elemental Damage: 14-172
Critical Strike Chance: 9.38%
Attacks Per Second: 1.68
Gloom Arch
Many Exiles consider this Physical DPS bow to be the best that Path of Exile has to offer. In fact, it even rivals notable items like the Blood Wing or the Tempest Thunder in the eyes of many. To get this item, you’ll need to dig deep into your virtual pocket and cough up 120 Exalted Orbs. By that number, e can conjecture that the original piece’s value can soar anywhere from 5,000 to 15,000 Exalts.
Physical Damage: 314-679
Critical Strike Chance: 8.75%
Attacks Per Second: 1.35
Havoc Suit
The perfect Elder Armour designed for Physical Attack Builds, the Havoc Suit, is as formidable as its name. Thanks to its Life bonuses and high Armour, it allows its wearer to take just about as much pain as he or she can dish out. In our opinion, it is perfect for either melee or ranger builds. You can don it by giving up 70 Exalted Orbs. The original would fetch something around 2,000 Exalts in the PoE trade.
Armour: 910
