Best Video Games Featuring Casino Locations

January 26, 2021 Posted by Jonathan Adams Editorial No Comments

Video games cover such a wide variety of genres, including sports, adventure, shooting, driving, puzzles, and so much more. There are thousands of different video games available across a number of platforms such as Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo. You can even enjoy playing the latest games using a tablet or mobile phone and the detail on some of the games is incredible considering the size of the device.

Exploring new places inside virtual worlds

Many video games include mini-games and these are often based on something completely different to the main game. A casino is a good example and there are several leading video game titles that include casino mini-games. Below you will find some of the best video games featuring casino locations, starting with Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas.

You can find plenty of casino games throughout the Grand Theft Auto series but San Andreas was the first to include it in the storyline of the game. There are several casinos located in the fictional city of Las Venturas and some of them are accessible to the player. As part of the overall aim of the game, you must try and improve Carl Johnson’s gambling ability and the only way to do this is by participating in casino games. Johnson’s gambling skill level increases with every $100 you spend in a casino and some of the casino games on GTA: San Andreas include blackjack, slot machines, wheel of fortune, and video poker.

GTA: San Andreas is not the only game from the GTA series to include casino games. You can also enjoy gambling in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City and online versions of the game. If playing casino games on Grand Theft Auto whets your appetite for more and you fancy trying online casinos games using real money, you should check out the complete review of Sugarhouse online casino. This is one of the leading online casinos, especially for those based in the United States. The casino started life in Philadelphia in 2010 and the online version of the casino was launched in 2016. There is a huge selection of games available at Sugarhouse Casino and if you want to feel the adrenaline rush of playing casino games for real, it is a great place to begin.

Real Life locations in video games

Las Vegas is known as the mecca of gambling and this has been encapsulated in the Fallout New Vegas video game. This game is based on a post-apocalypse Las Vegas but that does not mean the casinos have gone out of business. However, despite being able to enter the greatest casinos Las Vegas has to offer, things are not the same as they once were and that means the casinos are not always honest. You must be careful when playing casino games in Fallout New Vegas as they will be attempting to cheat you out of your money. The graphics in this game are superb and provide a tremendous backdrop to a casino experience in Las Vegas as you have never seen before.

Moving on and we come to another fantastic video game featuring gambling called Red Dead Redemption. This game comes from the makers of Grand Theft Auto and is based in the wild west. The action-adventure game developed by Rockstar San Diego was released in 2010 to critical acclaim and while conducting your everyday business around town you have the opportunity to participate in a game of Texas Hold’Em poker. You can sit around the table and play fairly but you also have the option of trying to cheat and win more money but this comes with the obvious consequences if you are caught.

On the back of the success of Red Dead Redemption, a sequel was released in 2018 and again features casino games. There is a selection of casino games to enjoy in this video game including poker, blackjack, and five finger fillet. The latter is a game where not only is your money on the line but also your body as you alternate a knife between your fingers in the fastest time possible.

Casino games are sometimes found in the most unlikely of video games and Super Mario 64 is a great example. Playable on the Nintendo DS among other Nintendo devices, it is possible to enjoy a selection of casino games when playing Super Mario 64 by entering Luigi’s Casino. Inside you will find table games such as blackjack and roulette plus slots which are based on the Mushroom Kingdom. You do not run the risk of losing any real money when playing the casino games and they are a great deal of fun.

Some of the other top video games featuring gambling elements include Final Fantasy VIII, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, Far Cry 3, The Sims 3, and Watchdogs. Some of the gambling games may not be traditional casino games but they add plenty of excitement and tension to the overall gaming experience.
