As remakes of some of the most popular games on the PlayStation 2, the GTA Trilogy remasters have many long-time fans eager to jump back in. At the same time, some of the changes brought into the games have introduced points of concern that worry some players. Rather than a direct port and rerelease, the GTA games have modified some fundamental components, the result of which has been hotly debated. It’s a problem that many game ports face, where the best outcome means finding where on the spectrum to make a change.
The Purity Scale
There are some forms of interactive entertainment where ports are about transferring the experience as directly and accurately as possible. Regardless of your opinions on the adjustments made to this trilogy of games or how casino games are adapted, we can at least be happy the Rockstar is finally making progress outside of GTA 5. Though there’s still no sign of GTA 6, with rumours circulating of development hell, this new trilogy has given us a few dozen hours in some classic worlds to jump back into. The games might not be as groundbreaking as they once were, but there’s still no denying the appeal of the worlds these titles create.
