Online Gambling Trends in Poland: From Mixed Realities to Provably Fair Casinos

June 29, 2022 Posted by Jane Smith Editorial No Comments

With 4.6 billion occasional gamblers and at least 1.6 regulars, the global market of online gambling has been on a crazy run since the emergence of the first online casino in 1994. Valued at about $75 billion and predicted to grow up to $300 billion by the end of the decade, it is one of the most promising and innovative industries.

Speaking of innovations, the Polish segment of online gambling has proven to be one of the friendliest European markets when it comes to technological advancements. Even though centralized, it offers plenty of up-to-date casinos for players of all tastes and budgets. From virtual reality to provably fair casinos, there’s so much new tech out there!

What to try in the first place? Well, we had the red-hot innovations that shape Polish online gambling today: live casinos, VR casinos, and Provably Fair casinos. Before we start, though, let’s give credit to Anna Rosak, a gambling expert from KasynoHEX, who helped us with this piece. Just a couple of words about the lady: she’s a passionate gambler and a wordsmith, carrying out a mission of introducing Polish players to the world of safe e-gambling. Your Beloved Brick-and-Mortar Venue at the Comfort of Your Home

The unceasing pandemic gas affected many businesses, and gambling hasn’t escaped unscathed as well. But it managed to adapt better and quicker than most expected: not only did brick-and-mortar casinos open websites to cater to the former land-based players who were forced to look for digital avenues of entertainment, but they also equipped their websites with live casino games.

Now, what are live casino games? These are games streamed from virtual or brick-and-mortar gambling studios – or even real casinos. Live casino games encompass all types of games, from slots to card games to table games, recreating the real-life experience of noisy gambling halls. Knowledgeable dealers, customizable screens, and live chat help to deliver the vibe of brick-and-mortar gambling to the comfort of your home.

There are myriads of live casinos to choose from, including both aspiring venues and renowned beasts like this one: Slottica kasyno, Vulkan Vegas, or Energy Casino.

The Next Level of Immersion

Even if you’ve never played at a VR casino, you must have seen other people watching movies and playing games while wearing VR headsets. Well, here you go: VR gambling is very similar to both VR movies and games. First, it offers the next level of immersion, a much deeper one than live casino games; second, it’s also available at the comfort of your home. Just like popular VR games – Half-Life: Alyx, Trover Saves the Universe, Squadrons, etc. – VR casinos are slowly but steadily winning the hearts of millions, and especially so when most punters are home-bounded by COVID-19.

Of course, the technology is still in its infancy, but you can already play the full list of games using a VR headset. Slots, poker, roulette, blackjack, and many games are waiting for you at a modern VR casino. We can only predict that with time, VR becomes an inseparable part of i-gaming and this opinion is widely shared in gaming communities.

Provably Fair Gambling

What was a dream a decade ago became a reality with the emergence of blockchain: trustless casinos and sportsbooks. Until recently, gamblers couldn’t verify the fairness of online casinos: at best, they had to trust software testing agencies (for example, eCOGRA); at worst, they had to take it on trust.

Now, though, there’s a new category of blockchain-based Provably Fair casinos allowing punters to verify all outcomes of their games. It works as follows:

  1. Both the casino and the player generate unique Server Seed (known only to the casino) and User Seed (known only to the player).
  2. Then the Server Seed and the User Seed are combined to create a unique Seed Pair, which in turn generates all the outcomes for the player until a) the end of the gambling session or until b) the player decides to change the Seed Pair.
  3. Once a) or b) occurs, the player gets access to the previously used Server Seed and thereby can verify the fairness of his previous games.

Provably Fair casinos do have some drawbacks connected to the vulnerability of Server Seed and User Seed, but they are a breath of fresh air all the same.

Last but not least, no matter how tempting the technologies are, never forget that gambling can be addictive. If you feel like being hooked on gambling, don’t hesitate to ask for help at international – BeGambleAware, Gamblers Anonymous, GamCare, etc. – or your local problem gambling organizations.
