The 8 buttons Explained on THECXSTICK for THE400 Mini

January 24, 2024 Posted by Bill Loguidice Editorial, How to No Comments

There appears to be some confusion about the button locations on THEXCSTICK for THE400 Mini. I covered THE400 Mini announcement previously, including the known games to date, but it appears that the locations of the buttons keep on confusing. I get it, it’s not immediately obvious, but there are indeed seven (7) additional functions on top of the classic single action button, which brings the total number of buttons to eight (8).

Here’s the product page, and you can preorder here.

THECXSTICK with the joystick removed for clarity and the four (4) buttons on the outer ring highlighted. It’s probably more accurate to say that the outer ring will move in one of those four directions when pressed down in said direction rather than those being actual buttons, but the functionality remains the same. This outer ring was only decorative on the original Atari 2600 VCS joysticks.

Hope that helps!

I'll post the email below for posterity, but essentially it indicated the hardships the company has gone through in the past 18 months and how they're essentially going to primarily focus on IP and publishing games, with the hope that they'll eventually be able to release the Amico console, which had its first of several launch dates back in October of 2020.
