After over two weeks of downtime, Armchair Arcade is officially back online and fully operational on our new, high-performance home! The sudden downtime was forced by a critical, industry-wide cPanel authentication bypass vulnerability that left legacy hosting environments completely exposed to active exploitation. Because our previous host, HostGator, left us stranded on an outdated, End-of-Life CentOS 6 server architecture that could no longer receive official security patches, they abruptly locked down server access, taking our environment, including emails, offline. Migrating our extensive repository under those emergency, locked-down conditions was a massive hurdle. However, after some intensive database engineering and direct server-level intervention, I successfully rescued all of the legacy metadata for the most recent iteration of the website. We’re thrilled to be back, more secure, and running faster than ever on modern infrastructure!

It will take me a week or so to make sure everything is fully functional and stabilized, but I’ll slowly be rolling out backlogged content, including reviews, in the meantime.
