In the premium packaging is the foldable neck air conditioner itself, a right-angled USB-C charging cable, paperwork, and a nice, form-fitting carrying case that keeps everything safe from scratches when traveling.

Features and design: Premium all around

This isn’t your cheap, flimsy theme-park neck fan. The Cyber Fold features three dedicated cooling plates, including a crucial third plate right at the back of the neck to target tension. It packs a 6,000 mAh battery that lasts anywhere from roughly two to 15 hours, depending upon usage. On the plus side, you can use the Cyber Fold while it charges, although you’ll likely need to use a longer USB-C cable than what’s included in order to do so. Another positive is that it features 20W fast charging, so if you don’t have a longer cord ready, you can get its capacity up again quickly.

The Cyber Fold boasts an ultra-portable foldable design that takes up minimal space in your gear bag should you choose not to use the included case. Tipping the scales at a solid 18.8 ounces (532 grams), it’s a bit heavier than standard bladeless fans. As a bonus, it also doubles as a neck heater for those chilly winter months, or when you need to soothe a tired neck.

There’s a right and left exterior display, with the former showing rear and front fan status and mode, while the latter shows power and connectivity. Mode and Power buttons are for controlling onboard functionality, but it also connects to an iOS or Android device via the TORRAS COOLiFY | Connect app. The app is basic and straightforward, allowing you to fine-tune each of the fans, as well as use AI to automatically regulate the desired temperature. I loved that when I first got the Cyber Fold, it immediately connected to my iPhone and offered a firmware update.

Performance: It’s cool (and warm)

When the heat index spikes, the Cyber Fold delivers real, instant cooling instead of just blowing hot air around your face. In standard airspeed testing, it hit a peak of 1,785 feet per minute (about 20.3 mph), making it incredibly powerful. It’s relatively smooth, emitting minimal vibration (around 0.2 mm/s), and runs at a tolerable 51.4 dB on low up to 65 dB on high speed.

I’ve used the Cyber Fold for regular housework, at my desk when running hot, and to soothe my neck. However, my very first use was the ultimate stress test, which was cutting the grass in the early afternoon New Jersey heat at 93 degrees. Even though I still had to tap out after only finishing half of my backyard property, the Cyber Fold allowed me to go far longer than would have normally been possible without it on my neck. Both the location of the device and its advanced thermal properties really make a difference versus cheap fans.

What about the competition?

While there’s no way around the high cost of the Cyber Fold, it’s not really comparable to less expensive neck fans. Those devices lack subtlety, and even at their lowest setting, the way they blow air can be annoying. The Cyber Fold is far more adjustable in every way that matters.

TORRAS makes other models, like the COOLiFY 2S Pro ($199.99), COOLiFY Air ($116.99), and COOLiFY 2S Lite ($199.99), among others, but the Cyber Fold is the flagship for a reason.
