I personally have the Founders Edition, but they’re all great, and wonderfully replicate the original Commmodore 64 experience in modern FPGA hardware. It’s one of the very best ways to recreate the original, and authentic, C-64 experience for our modern world.

Firmware 1.1.0 is now out as well, which adds several improvements, including the ability to use a USB mouse instead of requiring use of the standard classic serial mouse. You can read the changelog here.

Price and what’s included

The Mukiya PaktVault MagLeap Wireless Charging Stand retails for $39.99, but is often on sale for much less ($24.99 as of this writing!). It’s available in Black, Pink, Purple, and White. I’m reviewing the latter.

Despite the budget pricing, it’s a complete package. Inside the box, you get the charger itself, a manual, a 20W QC 3.0 power adapter, and a 5-foot (1.5m) USB-C to USB-C cable. That longer 5-foot cable is a massive breath of fresh air, directly addressing the frustrating reach issues I’ve experienced with other compact charging stations.

Features and design: A charger with a quirky style

The “suitcase” design is undoubtedly the star of the show. Available in several colors, it features tiny molded faux wheels and a handle, folding completely flat when it’s time to hit the road. Even better, it’s tastefully done.

When you pop it open, you’re greeted with a MagSafe-compatible mount powered by strong N52 magnets, a dedicated Apple Watch puck that folds out from the back, and a base pad for your AirPods. Despite the cute exterior, the hinge mechanism is stiff and reliable. It holds even heavier models like the iPhone 17 Pro Max at the perfect viewing angle without slowly drooping under the weight.

Performance: All you need on the go

Novelty looks don’t mean much if the stand can’t actually power your Apple gear. The PaktVault delivers a reliable 15W to your iPhone, which translates to a full 0-to-100% charge in roughly 3.5 hours. It’s not going to break any speed records compared to a direct wired fast-charge, but for overnight nightstand use or topping off at a hotel tabletop, it’s practically flawless.

The internal Smart Chip 3.0 handles heat dissipation impressively well. Even with my iPhone, Apple Watch, and AirPods all pulling power simultaneously, the unit never got alarmingly hot, keeping everything safely protected from over-voltage.

The Pluses

• Whimsical yet functional design: The suitcase look is fun, but the flat-folding mechanism is genuinely practical for slipping into a backpack or carry-on.
• Upgraded accessories: The inclusion of a 20W brick and a generous, modern 5-foot USB-C cable adds tremendous out-of-the-box value.
• Strong magnets: The N52 magnetic array holds heavy Pro Max phones securely, allowing you to easily rotate between portrait and landscape modes.

The Minuses

• Case constraints: As with most MagSafe stands, you absolutely need a bare phone or a dedicated magnetic case as standard thick cases will ruin the grip.

Should you buy the Mukiya PaktVault MagLeap Wireless Charging Stand?

If you travel frequently, or just appreciate tech accessories that don’t take themselves too seriously, the Mukiya PaktVault MagLeap Wireless Charging Stand is an easy recommendation. It solves the hotel room cable clutter problem with a wink and a nod, providing reliable, safe power to your daily Apple trio. The fact that it includes a sufficiently long cable and a dedicated power brick right in the box pushes it from a “good” novelty to a genuinely great accessory. In fact, I’d say this is one of my favorite chargers to date. It just nails all the basics, moving its utility well beyond just a travel companion.

The Mukiya 3 in 1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Station is available from Amazon for a regular retail price of $47.99, but is often on sale for at least $10 less. It’s available in Blue, Light Blue, Pink, Purple, Black, or White. I’m reviewing the latter.

In the box is the foldable charging station, a 3.3-foot (1m) USB-A to USB-C cable, a user manual, and crucially, an 18W QC 3.0 power adapter. Having the adapter included right out of the box is a massive win at this price point, meaning you can plug it in and start charging immediately.

Features and design: MagSafe trio

Mukiya designed this station with a clear focus on versatility. The main draw is the MagSafe-compatible mount, featuring a strong magnetic array that confidently grips your iPhone Series 12 through 17, in either portrait or landscape orientation. Behind the phone sits the Apple Watch charging puck. Built into the base is a dedicated spot for your wireless-charging AirPods case.

One of the standout design elements is the adjustable touch-control nightlight. It glows a warm white on standby and switches to a soft blue when your phone is actively charging. Thankfully, Mukiya had the foresight to make this light toggleable via a simple touch switch. The hinge mechanism feels surprisingly robust, allowing you to fold the entire rig flat, which is a massive space-saver that easily transforms it from a desktop staple to a travel companion.

Performance: Charges on the go

When it comes to power delivery, the Mukiya holds its own, outputting 15W of fast magnetic charging for your iPhone. In real-world terms, you’re looking at taking a dead iPhone to 100% in roughly 3.5 hours. While that doesn’t quite match the blistering speeds of a direct, wired fast-charger, it’s more than sufficient for overnight charging or topping off at your desk during the workday.

The intelligent ETL-certified chip inside does a commendable job of managing thermals. Pushing power to three devices simultaneously usually results in a hot charger, but the Mukiya disperses heat well, protecting your hardware from over-voltage and short circuits. The Apple Watch and AirPods charge at standard wireless speeds, effectively readying all your daily tech in a single, organized footprint.

Although I appreciate how compact the unit gets, especially when folded, I was less-enthused with the USB-A to USB-C cable length. 3.3-feet is just not very long, so if you have a particularly high nightstand or tabletop, you might have trouble reaching. Otherwise, for how lightweight the unit is, I’m satisfied with its stability, and, in terms of responsiveness, I have no complaints. It’s an elegant companion for a reasonable price.

The Pluses

• Highly Portable: The fold-flat design makes it easy to slip into a bag or carry-on.
• Ready Out of the Box: The inclusion of an 18W power brick is a rarity and adds instant value.
• Sturdy Build: It has a satisfying weight that keeps it planted on your desk, avoiding the flimsy feel of cheaper plastics.
• Controllable Lighting: The built-in ambient nightlight can be toggled off completely, which is perfect for light sleepers.

The Minuses

• AirPods Placement: The lower charging pad is a bit sensitive to placement of AirPods, which can also slide off if bumped.
• Strict Case Constraints: You absolutely need a MagSafe-compatible case or a bare phone. Thick cases will block the magnetic connection.
• Short Charging Cable: USB-A instead of USB-C aside, the included charging cable is on the short side.

Should you buy the Mukiya 3 in 1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Station?

The Mukiya 3 in 1 Magnetic Wireless Charging Station is a highly functional, budget-friendly hub that successfully declutters your workspace. It looks sharp, folds down efficiently for travel, and includes everything you need in the box to get started right away. Just plug and play. If you’re a frequent traveler, it’s a fantastic value for the money, although I would have preferred a longer USB charging cable. While I recommend this charging station, if you demand the absolute fastest charging speeds possible, or have a particularly thick, non-MagSafe phone case, you’ll want to explore more premium, though far more expensive, alternatives.

Price and what’s included

The KAMRUI Hyper H2 with the i5-14450HX, 16GB of DDR4 RAM, and a PCIe 4.0 (Gen 4) 512GB NVMe SSD, carries a listed MSRP of $769, but you should rarely pay that price. It’s frequently heavily discounted on Amazon, routinely dropping to $400 or less with coupons. At that heavily discounted price, the value proposition skyrockets.

Inside the box, you get the Hyper H2 mini PC, a power adapter, an HDMI cable, paperwork, and a VESA mounting bracket with screws that’s perfect for hiding the unit out of sight behind a monitor. It comes with Windows 11 Pro pre-installed.

Features and design: A VESA-mountable connectivity hub

The Hyper H2 is enclosed in a standard, slightly utilitarian plastic chassis measuring roughly five inches square. While it won’t win any premium design awards compared to something like an aluminum Mac Mini, its true value lies in its connectivity and expandability. The front and back panels are loaded with I/O, including an impressive cluster of seven USB ports (four on the rear, three on the front), although only one of those, on the front, is USB-C. This full-featured USB-C port is capable of 10Gbps data transfer, 15W power delivery, and DisplayPort Alt Mode. It’s a shame that the USB-C port also can’t be powered from a compatible monitor to eliminate the extra power cord, but that’s typically how it goes with a mini PC.

Combined with the dedicated HDMI 2.0 and DisplayPort 1.4b connections, the Hyper H2 easily supports a triple 4K monitor setup running at 60Hz. It also features Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and a Gigabit Ethernet port for reliable networking. Internally, the machine is highly upgradeable, with two SO-DIMM slots supporting up to 64GB of RAM, and dual M.2 slots that allow you to expand storage up to 4TB. Cooling is handled by an upgraded dual-fan system with full copper heat pipes and dedicated aluminum heatsinks for the SSD. For added physical security, accessing the internals requires unlocking a switch with a screwdriver.

Performance: A CPU powerhouse with integrated limitations

Fortunately, this is a clean Windows 11 Pro install, so there’s nothing you have to worry about removing. Out of the box, the computer uses the Balanced power profile.

When it comes to raw processing, the Intel Core i5-14450HX easily tears through productivity tasks. This mobile chip boasts 10 cores (6 Performance and 4 Efficient) and 16 threads, with turbo speeds up to 4.8GHz. Heavy multitasking, massive spreadsheets, compiling code, and media server transcoding are handled with little effort. It idles quietly and efficiently, sipping power when you’re just browsing the web.

However, users must understand the limitations of the integrated Intel UHD Graphics. While some listings label this a “Mini Gaming PC,” that’s heavily misleading. This machine is perfect for retro emulation, older eSports titles at modest 1080p settings, or cloud gaming, but it will fundamentally struggle with modern games, especially AAA titles. Additionally, when pushing the CPU with sustained, heavy workloads, such as for long video renders, the dual fans will ramp up significantly, making the machine noticeably noisy as it works to keep the mobile processor from thermal throttling.

Benchmarks, with out-of-the-box settings, tell a similar story. In PCMark 10, I got a score of 5,724, with 9,435 in Essentials, 11,007 in Productivity, and 4,902 in Digital Content Creation. That was better than 57% of all results, just below an average 2023 Office laptop at 5,848, and well below a 2023 Gaming laptop at 7,066. 3DMark’s Steel Nomad Light wouldn’t even run properly, giving me a score of just 291 for DX12. Again, this is definitely not a machine you’d buy for modern gaming.

Geekbench 6‘s CPU benchmark was more indicative of the real world performance during typical use cases for this type of hardware, giving a single-core score of 2,510, and a multi-core score of 10,324. Geekbench 6 uses a calibrated baseline score of 2,500 to represent the single-core performance of a desktop Intel Core i7-12700. The KAMRUI’s Intel Core i5-14450HX’s single-core score of 2,510 means it performs almost identically to that desktop chip in single-threaded workload bursts. With its 10 cores and 16 threads, a score of 10,324 shows the KAMRUI’s strong capability for multi-tasking, heavy browser use, and local rendering.

The Geekbench 6 GPU benchmark for the OpenCL API gave a score of just 4,008. While 4,008 is a “good” score for that specific integrated chip, it’s very low in terms of modern graphics performance. To put it in perspective, higher end integrated graphics like Intel Arc or AMD Radeon 780M, generally score between 25,000 and 35,000. Dedicated Laptop GPUs, like an NVIDIA RTX 4050 or 4060, typically score anywhere from 60,000 to over 100,000.

All told, the KAMRUI Hyper H2 is not that far off, and in some ways is actually better, than the more expensive ACEMAGIC M1 Mini PC I reviewed back in December 2025 for How-To Geek. And that’s with less RAM and a smaller SSD capacity.

Wireless networking, however, is not one of its strong points. My desktop PC, which is hardwired to one of my Deco satellites, had a ping of 12 ms, download speed of 2,263.86 Mbps, and upload speed of 311.54 Mbps. My Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, which was on WiFi, had a ping of 33 ms, download speed of 2,106 Mbps, and upload speed of 229 Mbps. The KAMRUI’s WiFi connection under the same exact parameters and distance as the Samsung, had a ping of 28 ms, download speed of 285.16 Mbps, and upload speed of 151.49 Mbps. Not terrible, but it’s clear if you want higher performance networking, stick to the Ethernet port.

Should you buy the KAMRUI Hyper H2 Mini PC?

If you need a discrete, CPU-focused Windows mini PC that can handle a multi-monitor home office, programming demands, or running a Plex media server, the KAMRUI Hyper H2 Mini PC is a fantastic, space-saving option, provided you buy it on sale. The raw processing power of the i5-14450HX easily outpaces older mobile chips in this price bracket, and the ability to easily upgrade the RAM and storage gives it great longevity for when the former drops down again to reasonable pricing. However, if your workflow relies heavily on GPU acceleration for video editing, or if you are looking for a genuine compact gaming rig, the lackluster integrated graphics mean you should look toward an alternative with a dedicated GPU or stronger integrated Radeon graphics.

The Quntis Curved Monitor Light Bar, aka Foldable Arc Eye-Care Light, is available direct from Quntis or Amazon for as low as $59.99 on sale. In the box you get the light bar, USB-C to USB-A cable, 5V/2A USB-A AC power adapter, 2.4GHz wireless control puck, three AAA batteries for the control puck, and paperwork.

Features and design: Wide and accessible

The standout feature of this light bar is its hinged design, which allows the two halves to angle independently up to a width of 25 total inches, and conform to monitors with sweeping curvatures spanning 34 inches and beyond (1000R to 3000R). It can be used on regular flat monitors as well. A heavy triple-fold clip equipped with anti-slip silicone mounts securely to screens up to 3.54 inches thick. Under the hood, it features a 45-degree asymmetrical optical design, ensuring that the bright front light hits your keyboard and workspace rather than your screen or eyes.

You get an impressive Ra98 Color Rendering Index (CRI) and IEC-certified anti-blue light protection, helping to alleviate visual fatigue during long coding, writing, or gaming sessions. On the aesthetic front, the top of the bar features 15 flowing RGB backlight modes that project upwards and backwards to create an ambient glow. A built-in light sensor can also automatically adjust the front brightness to match your room’s ambient conditions.

Since there’s no app or computer interface, you can simply plug the USB-C to USB-A cable into the included 5V/2A USB-A AC power adapter, or anything equivalent, and start using the light. Of course, you’ll also need to insert the included AAA batteries into the wireless control puck, which should last several months of regular usage.

Performance: Power forward

Usage is as straightforward as it gets. The wireless control puck is pre-paired, so after inserting the batteries and applying power to the light, you can control it. Tap once on the power button to wake up the puck, then tap it again to power on the light. There are also back light, auto dimmer, brightness, and color temperature touch points, as well as minus and plus buttons for adjusting intensity or changing modes down or up, respectively, which is also reflected on the semi-circular grid.

The back light, or auxiliary light, can be turned on or off, and the RGB mode selected. When the auto dimmer is set to on, it will gradually dim when the surroundings are bright, and during darker conditions will brighten. Brightness does exactly what you think, decreasing or increasing the luminance of the light. Color temperature allows you to adjust between a warmer, or more yellow light, or a cooler, and more white, light.

Considering the relatively limited functionality, I do find the control puck to be rather oversized. However, since it runs on three batteries, and you do want some stability when using it on a desktop, I understand the need to make it the way it is. I’ll also note that it was difficult to remove the protective plastic from the top of the puck, causing me to scratch the surface in a noticeable area. It’s also glossy, making it a fingerprint magnet.

Moving from the controls to the light bar itself, the physical fit proved to be another point of friction. My INNOCN 49Q1R 49-Inch OLED Curved Gaming Monitor, which I previously reviewed for How-To Geek, has an 1800R curvature, which is well-within the Quntis Monitor Light Bar’s range. However, it just didn’t fit right, thanks in part to the thickness of the monitor’s depth and how the two wings of the light curve. Instead, I ended up using it atop two side-by-side 24-inch ThinkVision monitors, which are not curved. Your own mileage may vary, but it does indicate how hard it is, even for a monitor light that is designed around curved monitors, to properly accommodate every shape that’s out there.

Even though the ThinkVision monitors aren’t curved, and each wing of the light curves toward my seated or standing position, the Quntis properly lit up my desktop without placing noticeable glare on my displays. I like my light cool (white) and bright (brightest), and in that regard, the Quntis doesn’t disappoint. It’s a great front light.

Should you buy the Quntis Monitor Light Bar for Curved Displays?

If you’ve been suffering through eye fatigue or battling screen glare from a traditional desk lamp, the Quntis Monitor Light Bar is a practical and visually striking upgrade for either a large ultrawide curved or flat monitor. However, given the variability of the former, it still may not be the best fit, or even superior to a traditional monitor light bar. Nevertheless, if you want an excellent front light and don’t need finer app-based control, the Quntis delivers at a reasonable price point.

Price and what’s included

The IQUNIX Magi96 Pro is available direct from IQUNIX or Amazon for a regular retail price of $209.99 ($179.00 direct), but is often on sale for less. In the box you get the pre-assembled keyboard, premium USB-C to USB-A cable, female USB-C to female USB-A adapter, 2.4GHz USB-A receiver that sits behind a magnetic cover on the corner of the keyboard, keycap and switch puller, carrying case, 10 extra keycaps, two silicone switch blockers (aka, plate plugs or socket covers), a sticker, and paperwork. While more expensive than some other low-profile keyboards like the NuPhy Air96, the Magi96 Pro is undeniably a premium unboxing experience.

I’m specifically reviewing the Creamy / Ochre White (off white) ANSI (US) version of the keyboard, but it’s also available in Black / Shadow Black and ISO models.

Features and design: A CNC-machined marvel

The Magi96 Pro lets you connect via wired USB-C cable, a 1000Hz 2.4GHz wireless receiver, or Bluetooth, the latter of which supports up to three different devices. Pressing FN plus an appropriate key, like 4, for 2.4GHz mode, lets you quickly switch between modes.

Since I’m using this keyboard primarily on a Windows 11 desktop, I replaced the left-side wide OPT and CMD keys with the included wide ALT and WIN (Windows) keys, respectively. There’s a second ALT key to replace the second OPT key, but no additional WIN key, so I left that as CMD. I also replaced the ESC key with the included bronze X.

Naturally, you’re going to want to pull the keycaps using the keycap puller from top to bottom, rather than left to right, so you don’t pull the switch out with the keycap. It’s not a big deal if you don’t as they’re hot-swappable, but it’s something to note when pulling keycaps since the custom Kailh Gold Red two pin switches can easily bend if you’re not careful.

The keycaps are not shine-through, so you only see the RGB lighting around the opaque keycaps, referred to as halo effect or edge lighting. As such, the lighting effects are subdued at best.

On the plus side, the keycaps are a high-quality PBT plastic with an anti-oil coating, resulting in a low chance of developing a greasy shine over time. I also like the slight grip the keytops have.

One of the things that makes this a Pro keyboard is the aluminum volume wheel (roller) and four point buttons. Each point of the X controls a different function by default, with, for instance, the lower left button being to Play/Pause media.

One of the first things you’re likely to notice about the Magi96 Pro is how heavy it is thanks to the lack of plastic found in many other low-profile keyboards. At over 2lbs 13oz, you really feel the CNC-machined aluminum. It feels incredibly solid and eliminates any potential for flex.

Even with the tenkey (number pad), media keys, and wireless USB dongle storage, the keyboard is only 16-inches wide. That’s still not the best for placing the keyboard as close as possible to your mouse for gaming, but it’s a lot better than typically much wider keyboards with those types of features.

As is usual for a keyboard of this type, you have to use VIA software and download a special JSON file from the IQUNIX website. I’d much prefer first party software in this case, as I had quite the time getting everything to connect properly, thanks in no small part to the documentation only being translated on a fairly basic level. In any case, just remember that you need to download the correct JSON file, navigate to the VIA web app, go to Settings to turn on the Design tab, then Load the JSON file. As long as your keyboard is connected via a wired USB connection and you properly authorize the device, you should have access to everything you need to configure most of what you want.

Performance: Creamy, quiet, and linear

What everyone wants to know with a keyboard of this type is how the keys sound. A video follows, but I can describe it as a nice and smooth typing experience, with a creamy, buttery-smooth sound. It’s the type of keyboard you can use almost anywhere without too much risk of disturbing someone.

I had a good overall typing experience, but, thanks to the compressed 96% layout and having so many extras, some keys are in the “wrong” places, creating a learning curve. It’s not a deal-breaker by any means, but it’s something to keep in mind when you’re doing anything but entering text.

While I found the keyboard comfortable, I’m still disappointed there are no adjustable feet, so you’re stuck with the one angle.

Thanks to the low-profile keys and switches, this is a good gaming keyboard in terms of general responsiveness, but the tenkey does create some extra width. There are still dedicated gaming keyboards, like the Logitech G Pro X, that I prefer to use when playing competitive shooters because of their adjustable actuation and rapid trigger modes, but the Magi96 Pro is very good for something not designed primarily for gaming.

Without the RGB lighting – something I found underwhelming anyway – you can get up to 500 hours of battery life wirelessly. With RGB on, that drops to around 14 hours at best.

On a side note, my Magi96 Pro fell off one of my standing desks and took a chunk out of my wood floor in my office. The keyboard itself didn’t even have a scratch and continued to work perfectly. That to me says a lot about the build quality, which again, is reflected in the overall premium-feeling typing experience.

Should you buy the IQUNIX Magi96 Pro keyboard?

By just about any definition, the IQUNIX Magi96 Pro is a true keyboard enthusiast’s package when said keyboard enthusiast doesn’t want to build their own. This is particularly true because of its relatively unique low-profile nature. I’ve used, and enjoyed other low profile keyboards, but this is definitely a whole other level in terms of overall quality.

Of course, the Magi96 Pro isn’t perfect. Some of the keys are in odd places, there’s no adjustable typing angle, and the VIA software is a bear to get a handle on. Still, if you want a heavy duty, low-profile keyboard that actually has a tenkey, this makes a great choice, particularly thanks to the silky smooth, and relatively quiet, key action.

Besides the glasses, you get a custom storage pouch and a microfiber cleaning cloth. There’s a standard one year warranty.

Design and features: Bold in blue

Finished in a bold “Conspiracy Blue,” the ROSWELL frames feature a precision-engineered polymer build with multi-barrel hinges. The design incorporates rubberized pads on the bridge and temple grips, helping them stay securely and comfortably in place during extended screen sessions. Aesthetically, they give off a distinct early-2000s retro-futuristic vibe, complete with Alienware’s iconic sculpted temples and the signature alienhead emblem. As an owner of several Alienware products, including my own beefy Alienware desktop I’m presently writing this on, I absolutely get the brand’s vibe from these glasses.

Of note is the included puffy storage pouch with rubber alienhead emblem on one side and GUNNAR’s G on the other. It reminds me of my North Face Puffer Jacket in the best way possible. The included microfiber cleaning cloth has “BE MORE ALIEN” on one side and the “GUNNAR X ALIENWARE” text on the other.

On the technical side, these glasses utilize GUNNAR’s patented Amber (65% of blue light blocked) or Clear (35% of blue light blocked) lenses paired with the G-Shield Plus coating, making them smudge-resistant while blocking harmful blue light and 100% of UV rays. I have the Amber version, which does change the color of what I see on-screen, but not in a bad way. Everything feels just that much sharper, just a bit less white because the blue light isn’t present. While I wouldn’t use these for color-centered work like photo or video editing, for everything else, they’re a pleasure. In terms of reflections, I really didn’t notice any, even with multiple light sources from various directions, although I suspect the Amber will be more resistant to that than the Clear, particularly if you get these in Prescription.

In terms of comfort, they’re lightweight thanks to the polymer frames and rubberized nose bridges and temple grips. The chunkier design sits well on my face and ears, although I can see some people not liking the slightly scratchy arms, particularly if they don’t have much hair in that area. One other thing to note is there are no adjustable hinges. While my head is on the larger side, these fit well, but I can see those with particularly big noggins having issues with the limitations of the hinges.

Should you buy the GUNNAR x Alienware ROSWELL Conspiracy Blue Glasses?

The GUNNAR x Alienware ROSWELL Conspiracy Blue Glasses make a bold statement while reducing digital eye strain. While not everyone will be onboard with the Alienware theme or chunky aesthetic, from a technical standpoint, I found the Amber lenses great performers and the overall fit comfortable. If you have a particularly large head, however, these may not be for you as they lack adjustable hinges. For everyone else, they should be a good choice in computer glasses.
