If you’re looking to catch up with the best games of 2016 that you may have missed, or are looking forward to some fascinating new releases, there’s plenty of gaming entertainment to enjoy.
Last year was another exceptional year for console and mobile gamers. PlayStation fans flocked to check out the concluding installments of Nathan Drake’s adventures in Uncharted 4, and Xbox One gamers enjoyed a chaotic end to the year with the deeply impressive Gears of War 4.
But perhaps the biggest console gaming breakthrough hit was Overwatch. This award-winning game from Blizzard Entertainment fused elements of popular battle arena games with a diverse range of characters to ensure that fast-paced combat remained a central part of the gaming year.
However, it was mobile gaming that really seized the headlines in 2016. As well as Pokémon Go causing all manner of public health warnings, Nintendo gave us Super Mario Run that shows that even a simple platformer can deliver endless mobile gaming fun. However, it’s the sheer diversity of the mobile gaming realm that continues to impress. From acclaimed sports simulators like NBA 2K17 to the impressive jackpots that can be found by playing the casino games at Casino Euro, it’s clear that gaming in the modern era is incredibly far-reaching.
So what can we expect from the titles to be released in 2017? The mobile realm looks to enjoy no less than two further titles from Nintendo as Fire Emblem and Animal Crossing are expected to become big hits later this year.
Developers have already built up an impressive list of titles for our favorites consoles. Resident Evil 7: Biohazard will be released in just a few days and will deliver one of the most terrifying gaming experiences of modern times, particularly since it will be fully playable in virtual reality on supported systems.
For those who looking for a good combat title should find that For Honor caters to their most violent needs with an array of vikings, samurais, and knights to battle with in a great multiplayer environment.
The much-delayed Mass Effect: Andromeda will eventually arrive on our consoles on 21 March (23 March in Europe) and will offer plenty of intergalactic adventures for sci-fi fans. And with familiar titles like Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon, Legend of Zelda, and Red Dead Redemption making highly anticipated returns alongside our favourite casino games, it looks to be yet another amazing year for gamers of all persuasions.
