Any word about the quality of the sound emulation in the newer Genesis editions (both console and portable)? That’s the most frequent complaint about these AtGames Genesis devices. I admit I found the “off-key” game music off-putting in the past, but it wasn’t a deal-breaker (for me).

My previous AtGames Genesis portable died on me, but this was after a year of semi-regular use. I’m rougher on portable devices than the average 8-year old, so for the price, I got my money’s worth. Hopefully they’ll address the sound emulation in this (or future) edition(s).

Thanks for keeping AA going in some form, Bill, and for not deleting the old site!

Hi, Rob. The SD console and handheld are using primarily the same sound engine, so they sound similar to the past. The only difference is that the SD console is now stereo. We may address it next year. The HD version of the console is using a completely different architecture and looks and sounds the way you’d expect it to.

And yes, Armchair Arcade is going strong, fortunately.

I am wanting to play Sega’s Greendog: The Beached Surfer Dude, but I see it’s not on the list. Are we able to purchase additional games for this, or are we limited to the ones already included?

You can add games by using your own SD card. It uses the .bin extension.

Can you get 2 of them and like link them wirelessly (like PSP or Nintendo DS) so that 2 people could play games like Golden Axe or Mortal Kombat?

No, the Sega and Atari handhelds are strictly for one player games. There is no link capability.

Is there a way to add artwork to the games on the SD Card?

Why no sonic 3 and knuckles? Or monopoly? These games can’t be found anywhere on the store for iOS or Android.

Neither game was available to license. Sonic 3 has music rights issues.

Only the RPGs. On the 2018 model, you can use save states for all of the games.

Hi and thanks for taking the time to review my comments. I bought this system for my son this past Christmas. Unfortunately today 12/27/2018 the button to go down does not work any more. Because it was working perfectly fine Christmas I do not have the box or receipt left for it. What should I do?

If you just bought it, the quickest, easiest solution is to exchange it at the store. Otherwise, you can email technical support at info@atgames.net.
