PlayStation 4 (PS4) Games to Look Forward to in 2018

October 31, 2017 Posted by Abigail Massimo Editorial No Comments

2017 has been an amazing year for the PS4, with the launch of its VR headset at the tail end of 2016 and some great new games using that technology. Now developers have seen what the PS4 is capable of, there are some fantastic titles coming in the new year, including those on non Gamstop sites. Here are a few of the games we’re most looking forward to playing next year.

Anthem

Wow. A massive, open-world game that your character can fly through? Mission-based third-person adventure with robot/monster hybrids? What can we say about Bioware’s upcoming new release except we can’t wait to play it. It’s one of those games that combines elements from some really great titles from the past (Mass Effect, Fallout, and more) but in a whole new way.

Beyond Good and Evil 2

The original Beyond Good & Evil was released back in 2003 for the PS2. It was a new concept and went on to gain a cult following. It was re-released in HD in 2011 to rave reviews. Still, it’s been long enough since the original release that younger gamers may not have heard of it. With an other-worldly setting and different alien races to explore, this one looks like it will be the ‘something different’ we all hope to stumble across.

Metro Exodus

Another sequel, this one is the follow up to Metro: Last Light. A post-apocalyptic first-person shooter with a few jump scares thrown in for good measure. If you like your light relief a little on the dark side, this could be one for you.

Skull & Bones

Coming from Ubisoft on the back of the highly rated Assassins Creed: Black Flag, you can be sure this one is going to be incredible. Offering multiplayer gaming, Skull & Bones requires cooperation to combat enemies and rule the high seas. Arrrr! Pass the rum and let’s get playing!

Assassin’s Creed: Origins

OK, this one was actually just released, but we couldn’t help but include it since it’s so late in the year. This hotly anticipated prequel to the Assassins Creed series is something a bit different. Although we’ve explored many cities around the world in the series so far, this one takes us back to Ancient Egypt. Clambering pyramids and scaling the walls of Pharaoh’s palace? It’s amazing.

What to do while we wait

Until we get into 2018 and all these fantastic new releases, what are we going to do to scratch that gaming itch? Well, you can always go back in time and appreciate the classics. Grabbing titles like the Atari Flashbacks lets you play those games that never get old all over again.

If that doesn’t appeal, then you can always use the web browser on your PS4 for a change of pace. Logging into a site like Casinomir.com gives you the chance to use your tech to connect and enjoy slots, casino games, and more.

The beauty of a device like the PS4 is its versatility. While we wait for the great titles that are coming in the new year, take full advantage of this.
