Are Escape Rooms the Videogames of the Future?

Are escape rooms the video games of the future? Many people believe they might be. Video games have certainly had their run and no one is arguing that fact. However, there are those who are no longer as interested in playing a game that they are forced to experience on a screen. No matter how realistic any video game is, there is only so much you can do when you’re dealing with an experience that is completely make-believe. It isn’t that the escape room games aren’t formed in the imagination, but they have an extra dimension that even the best video games just don’t have.

In escape room games, you’re not playing in the realm of make-believe in the same way that you are when you play video games. You’re standing right there and you are actively participating in the game from beginning to end. In fact, your ability to decipher the clues that are provided to you directly impacts your ability to find a way out of the room in which you’re “trapped” in. Even though the entire scenario is indeed made up, the very fact that you’re actively participating in the event gives it a different feel. It’s just not the same thing as playing a video game. That’s exactly why The Trapped! Escape Rooms have become so popular. People of all ages are flocking to the types of games, and one of the most prevalent groups of individuals involves those who are routinely found playing video games.

Sure, you can enjoy playing your favorite video games and to a certain extent, you can even get involved mentally. This is especially true if you have an active imagination. The more you love a particular video game, the easier it is for you to mentally put yourself in that situation. However, it doesn’t matter how well designed the game in question might be or how well you can imagine yourself in that scenario, you’re only participating on a superficial level. Regardless of how much fun you might be having, it still doesn’t change the fact that when it’s all said and done, you’re still sitting there on the couch staring at a screen. the only thing that’s probably moving is you thumb as your repeatedly punish the button on the controller. This has many gamers looking for something that allows them to take their creativity to the next level.

The door can be opened once you solve all of the puzzles.

This is where escape rooms come in. They’re somewhat equivalent to having that adrenaline rush you get when you ride a roller coaster, only in this adventure, you have the chance to use your brains, too. It’s fun to insert yourself directly into an experience that’s actually happening in the real world, allowing you to exist fully at the moment. Escape rooms give you the chance to live out your own little adventure. It can be as exciting as you like and the different options available are as varied as the number of people that walk through the doors. If you really want to enjoy something that gives you all the highs of playing video games but really gets you thinking, this is the ultimate adventure.
