The Top 5 Sega Games Online

January 22, 2020 Posted by Jane Smith Editorial No Comments

The classic gaming company Sega has been a much-loved favorite since the 1960s when the company was first founded. Their classic arcade-style games are ones many of us grew up with, and the recent release of their Genesis Mini Console proves retro games will never go out of style.

These days, the internet is its own gaming platform and you can play Sega games on almost any device. If you are looking for a new addiction, start with this list of the top five Sega games online.

1. SPIRAL KNIGHTS

Spiral Knights is a free online multiplayer game based in an alien world. As you navigate the planet, you discover it is less than friendly. This action-packed adventure game is best played with friends, and there are always new weapons and the world changes in real-time.

The Spiral Knights online game has grown in popularity, and it is designed for the game player who likes a challenge and an ever-changing landscape.

2. SONIC RACING

To play Sonic Racing you will need an Apple Arcade account, but trust us, it will be worth it. Sonic the Hedgehog is Sega royalty and it is good to see his legacy lives on. There are 15 tracks, powerups, events and practice modes, giving you hours of entertainment.

With the option to race privately with friends, Sonic Racing is the ultimate online party game.

3. SONIC DASH

If you prefer your Sonic on your handheld device, check out Sonic Dash in the app store. Have you ever wondered how far and how fast he can run? Well, now you can find out with this endless dash game.

The 3-D graphics bring it to life, as you jump and dodge the obstacles in your way. As the game progresses, it becomes more challenging as you try to beat your own personal record.

4. STREETS OF RAGE CLASSIC

For those with an Android device, look out for the classic Streets of Rage game. Sega fans may remember this the first time around, with three players and eight rounds of hitting action. The city is in chaos as the bad guys have taken over, leaving the police with little control.

Weapons include bottles and drainpipes; and while the graphics are very retro, it is an addictive addition to this list. Play the online multiplayer mode with your friends to discover who the Streets of Rage champion really is.

5. ALTERED BEAST

Another Playstore gem is the Altered Beast Sega game. This is another classic choice based somewhere in hell. Fight the undead in five levels of intense play, with unusual predators and magical orbs. The leaderboard is the place to be, as you try to reach Sega fame.

As you tear the limbs off of the grotesque creatures, you will revel in the fact you have been taken back to how gaming used to be.

MORE GAMES FOR ENDLESS ENTERTAINMENT

These five online Sega games are top of our list to beat the boredom these holidays. Need more online action inspiration? Try these recommended casino games online. Whether it is racing, old school combat or dashing through the streets, Sega has something for you.

There is a reason why this gaming company has stood the test of generations, and that is because their games are timeless and ahead of their time.
