Video Games You Can Gamble In

April 27, 2020 Posted by Jonathan Adams Editorial No Comments

Gambling and gaming are often considered to be the same thing, but it is not necessarily so. Gambling is an activity that involves placing bets or playing machines with the hope to win money. We distinguish games of chance, that rely completely on luck, and games of skill, where players can take advantage thanks to their previous knowledge. Game of chance would be roulette as you never know where the ball will end up, and a game of skill would be poker because you can calculate the odds and study your opponent. Sometimes, gambling is referred to as gaming because most companies who develop software for casinos develop games as well. Gaming, on the other hand, doesn’t necessarily feature any luck, but it is based completely on skill.

Still, in many ways, gaming and gambling go hand in hand. Nowadays, gambling industry focuses heavily on eSports, a specific part of the gaming industry where teams compete against each other. Also, video games are becoming more realistic, thus featuring casinos and gambling, something that is an essential part of everyday life for people all over the world. If you are looking for a real casino check out the live online casinos from IrishCasinoHEX, and if you want to gamble within video games check out the list below.

The Sims 3

The Sims 3, a popular video game by Electronic Arts, is often described as a simulation of life, but they introduced gambling only in the 3rd edition of the game. This is the perfect opportunity for everyone who has never gambled before, as you can learn about the games and get used to the environment before playing for real money.

The Sims 3 offers only a limited number of games: poker, slots, blackjack, and roulette, but it is more than enough to get some basic knowledge on them, and, of course, improve the skills of your character. Your Sim can increase the gambling skill by using the Hit ’em Harder Blackjack Table and the Triple Riches Slots O’Jackpots Slot Machine.

GTA San Andreas

Grand Theft Auto San Andreas, set in the virtual US state of the same name, is a game that was judged by many but played by even more. Developed by Rockstar Games, this video game classic is an action-packed adventure game that features casinos that offer almost everything a real casino would.

All you have to do is enter the venue and start playing the game you like. You can access slots, table games, and poker, and even borrow money from the casino to cut your losses. Just keep in mind that in GTA, as always, things get violent really quickly so make sure to be ready to fight. Or run, depending on your tactics.

Fallout New Vegas

This post-apocalyptic RPG game was released by Bethesda Softworks in 2010 and is a true tribute to the legacy of the Sin City. Fallout New Vegas is set in post-nuclear times, and the main protagonist goes on a revengeful mission for a lost package and fights the war for New Vegas and Mojave Wasteland.

The game features many gambling mini-games you can play, after visiting a casino within the game. There are six different casino venues, and most of them focus on blackjack. If you are a fan of this 21-card game that combines luck and skill, make sure to check out this classic that receives only positive reviews and keeps its audience engaged to this day.

Red Dead Redemption 2

Red Dead Redemption 2 was released by the same company as the GTA San Andreas. RDR2 saw the light of day in 2018 and quickly became an instant hit. Set in 1899, it is considered to be a prequel to Red Dead Redemption. The storyline follows the outlaw Arthur Morgan, a member of the Van der Linde gang, who has to fight other gangs, law officers, and upcoming changes in the good old Wild West.

RDR2 features several gambling mini-games, mostly poker, that are perfect when a player needs a break from all that fighting and hiding. You can play against your friends or the computer, it is all up to you!

Final Fantasy VIII

This Japanese science–fantasy media franchise is a gift that keeps on giving. The saga that has been around for four decades hasn’t lost any of its charm in its eighth installment. The game is set in an unnamed virtual world and follows not one, but six main protagonists. Considering it is not set in the real world in any form, there are no classic casino games, but you can try your luck and play Triple Triad. Triple Triad is played on the 3×3 grid, and the main goal for players is to obtain all cards before the opponent does. And if you have some rare cards, make sure to use them!
