Arcades were the start of a revolution of gaming which now has certainly seen a gulf in quality of gameplay since the era of the arcade. However, this isn’t looked past as some of the biggest classics from all time have come from the arcade and are recognizable all around the globe and today, we look at some of the classic that are in the history books at the gaming industry catalysts.

Of course, when you think about classics arcade games, there isn’t a game more classic to the industry that Pac-Man. The first mascot of the arcade world, and potentially the most important, Pac-Man starting to join up on arcade games back in the 1980s and was a friendly, maze-based game, eating as many dots as you can without getting caught by the ghosted. This high score game ensured we spent hours of fun running around on trying to beat our friends score and proved to go on to create hundreds of more Pac-Man sequels in years to come.

These types of games as said above were the catalyst when it game to the gaming industry which then inspired many other industries to compete in a similar fashion. Online casinos, you can find them here, have also been the benefit of new technology with many now not being played at high-street casinos but actually online due to the benefits that they offer. Many prefer online alternatives and the attached casinos have certainly been taking advantage of this new trend.

If we are talking about the original game that was first on the market for arcade players, then nothing quite rivals Space Invaders. Dating back to as far at the 1970s, this game was the first to see the rapid rise in technology and therefore the game advanced in design. Initially released in Japan in the late 70s., it eventually became an export and was then played across the world for the many decades to come.

And finally, although the top two are rarely rivals in terms of arcade games, the Street Fighter addition to the market was one that was innovative and something that the market had never seen before and therefore again was a catalyst in its field to hosting a new type of fighting game for consoles to come. The ultra-competitive gameplay ensured that this particular arcade was an instant hit with many wanting to fight their friends for bragging rights; in game online of course!
