Top 8 video games with the best packaging

What’s more awesome than a really badass video game? A really badass video game in a really badass video game packaging, of course! You’d want to show off your game collection by buying them in special edition DVD packaging. Your friends will all be jealous and you’d feel like a winner even if you really don’t win at these games (but who cares). Many of the CD and DVD packaging manufacturers for video games, music or film, have done more creative releases lately and that’s because there really is a demand for box sets for games.

If you’re a video game freak who likes to shop, here are some of the video games with really handsome packaging. Hold your pockets, let your girlfriend hide your card or else you’ll buy them all!

Heavy Rain

The beauty is in the detail. The droplets make this packaging stand out in an effortless way.

Heavy Rain was initially released in 2010, on the 23rd of February. The video game had a distinct box art for each region and this box art is the European version. The special edition of the video game has a little cover difference from the initial one. While this edition has small bumps that represent the heavy rain, the other one has none of it. The games’ story revolves around four protagonists being involved in the mystery of the Origami Killer, where every decision they make affects the narrative.

Dark Souls III (Prestige Edition)

This game packaging is so extra you’d want it in your living room so your guests can see just how cool you are. The box of the figurine is hot as hell! The Souls series is a 2009 action game published by Namco Bandai Games for PS4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows. The Dark Souls 3 is the fourth installment of the series and was released on March 24, 2016 in Japan and on April 12, 2016 worldwide. With the release of the game, the Prestige Edition of it was released and it comes with many add-ons like the collector’s case, cloth game map, patches, and more.

Dark Souls (Remastered)

It costs $450 but if you’re a fan, it’s something you’d want to own forever! Not only is the book stand awesome, the DVD case is something else! Sleek as sleek can be, baby. The Dark Souls Remastered belongs to the Souls series developed by FromSoftware, and is a remaster of the Soul series. It was released worldwide in May 2018 for PS4, Xbox One and Windows and was released in October 2018 for Nintendo Switch. This made it the first game from the series to appear on a Nintendo platform.

Dishonored 2 (Collector’s Edition)

Stare at the mask long enough and it might start talking to you. The poster will look cool in your game room, too! The sequel of the 2012 Dishonored developed by Arkane Studios was released on November 11, 2016. Dishonored 2 is an action-adventure game with a nonlinear gameplay which gives multiple ways to complete a mission. It has a collector’s edition where there is a mask, ring, and many more.

Far Cry Primal (Collector’s Edition)

Looks quite simple but the book makes this worth it. Far Cry Primal is a spin-off from the Far Cry series which was also developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by Ubisoft. It was released on February 23, 2016 and is the first game set that is set in the pre-modern times. The game revolves around Takkar, who was an unarmed hunter at the start but then rises to become the leader of a tribe.

Dead Island (Definitive Collection – Slaughter Pack)

Dead Island is a survival video game complete with horror and action as the player tries to survive a zombie-infested world as they escape off to the fictional island of Banoi. The video game has a Slaughter Pack that includes the game, a poster, and a miniature of a headless zombie.

Horizon Zero Dawn (Collector’s Edition)

The tin DVD packaging perfectly matches the steampunk feels of the game. Horizon is second to the latest video game on this list with Dark Souls Remastered being the latest release. It was released in 2017 by publisher Sony Interactive Entertainment. It follows a young huntress, Aloy, as she tries to uncover her past in a world where machines are dominating.

BioShock 2

The box is sturdy and too handsome to ignore. The aged/ worn out look is perfectly executed on this one. If Dark Souls Remastered was the latest, BioShock 2 is the oldest. In BioShock 2, you step into the boots of the most iconic denizen of Rapture, the Big Daddy, as you explore through the decrepit and beautiful fallen city, chasing an unseen foe in search of answers and your own survival.

Where to Buy Video Games

Buying video games has been a breeze these days, thanks to the technology and rise of online stores where you can just sit back on your couch and relax while shopping. If you’d like to buy from a reliable online store visit Poggers.com.
