Does the Progression of Roulette Games Suggest that Live Streaming can be Further Enhanced?

February 24, 2022 Posted by Jonathan Adams Editorial No Comments

Despite having been invented more than 200 years ago, roulette still acts as the grand centrepiece for both online and offline casinos. The game could have been left behind when gambling went digital but, instead, it evolved and became bigger and better. Now, there are hundreds of different ways to play roulette online, with live streaming being one of the most prevalent options. So, what does this suggest for the future of casino gaming?

Live Roulette has Become Highly Advanced

The live streaming strain of the game has significantly improved in a short space of time, highlighting how this technology could be enhanced further in the years to come. One of the most prevailing ways to play roulette online now is through live streaming, for example, with millions of players all over the world flocking to this option. There are now so many different games to choose from, with offerings like Spread Bet Roulette, Spin & Win Roulette, and Speed Roulette all designed to entice a diverse range of players.

In the early days of live streaming, players enjoyed the novelty of feeling as though they were sitting across from a dealer, playing a real version of a game. Now, the titles have grown increasingly more immersive, and these live games are challenging slots in terms of popularity. The fact that developers are going to such great lengths to improve their live options highlights how much interest there is in the genre.

Live Streaming has Improved in a Short Space of Time

Online casinos have been using live streaming for around a decade, and it’s clear to see that the games have come a long way. At first, developers simply focused on offering the best-known games like blackjack and roulette. Now, there are numerous innovative live games like Crazy Time and Buffalo Blitz. Players now feel closer to the action than ever before in these engaging games.

Live streaming has also boomed in other sectors after going mainstream when Facebook released its version in 2017. The popularity of this form of viewing was completely unprecedented, and there was over 3.5 billion broadcasts within a year. Because so many people use it, there has been a great focus on expanding its capabilities. Some of the best innovations have included 4K HDR and real-time communication.

Integrating New Technology will be Key

The next stage for live streaming will be to integrate emerging technology like augmented and virtual reality. If there’s one thing that makes users feel slightly separated from live streaming events, it’s the fact that they are always aware that they are viewing through a screen.

This may not be the case when watching through a VR headset, though. Developers will try to make it so that VR users feel like they are viewing live events in person. It may require a vast number of cameras to be set up at live events, but it’s something that feels like a possibility.

It’s fair to say that live streaming will continue to progress in the future as new technology emerges. Games like roulette are helping it move forward and persuading developers to come up with new ideas.
