Armchair Arcade gets first new logo in over four years

Armchair Arcade gets first new logo in over four years

January 7, 2015 Posted by Bill Loguidice Announcement, History, News 2 Comments

Since launching the new Armchair Arcade Website on October 22, 2014, after two previous versions dating back to 2003 and 2006, respectively, I thought it high time that our logo get a much needed update as well for 2015 and beyond. If you recall, these were just a few of our prior logos:

Broadband has now reached such a level of ubiquity that it is hard for small businesses to see why they need it and home internet. However, with fiber optic technology and the advent of cloud storage, this is not always the case.

Many small business owners tend to think the process of having a website is complicated, expensive and actually not needed, as they depend more on social media platforms to advertise about their products or services. If you want to be just another profile on a social media platform, make it difficult for people to search for you and find you, and be at the mercy of a platform that has its own rules and regulations, and if you don’t care much to measure conversions from views to sales, among many other disadvantages of not having a website, then yes, you probably don’t need a website.

Very Nice! Would you believe I actually like that chrome / Metallic one on the magazine cover. Mostly because back in the day I used to LOVE collecting floppy disks full of various fonts for my humble AMIGA 500. I would trade disks full of them from various shareware and PD houses in the UK, ah good times. The were great for programs like Dpaint and the like for simple video titling for my home videos. Hell I wasn’t even overlaying or chroma-keying anything, just simple composite output to my VCR but the titles and simple swipes certainly impressed friends and family alike, that is what I loved about the Amiga it allowed me to impress people very easily, including myself!

Thanks. I can understand liking the chrome/metallic logo from the first run of the site. That was by professional artist, Seb Brassard, who was also doing covers for us at the time (and the cover in the example). That’s hard to top!
