Gamers: Here’s How to Get the Most Out of Your Online Experience

November 22, 2021 Posted by Abigail Massimo Editorial No Comments

The internet is a busy place. On here, people do everything, from shopping to messaging their friends. But near the very top of the list is gaming. Every day, millions of people hop online to play their favorite games, whether it’s through their smartphones or consoles. In fact, you might be shocked to learn there are over 3 billion gamers worldwide! So, with gaming being such a popular hobby, it’s only right that you optimize your online experience to get the most out of it. How exactly can you do this? Keep reading to learn more.

Improve your internet speed

The first step you need to take is improving your internet speed. There are several ways you can do this:

  • Use a wired internet connection (if you play on PC or console)
  • Play closer to your router
  • Play on local servers (the servers within your own country)
  • Close background apps and disconnect other devices sharing your internet

If all else fails, you should try switching internet providers to a company that has better coverage in your area. This way, you won’t ever have to worry about lag or disconnections again when you’re playing online. Also, if you want access to some of the best online casino games in existence, visit www.spinpalace.com/ca/. Using your mobile, you’ll be able to play them anytime, anywhere.

Play with friends

Online gaming is suddenly made a lot more fun if you play with friends. You can team up together in parties and talk to each other using your microphones – it’s an experience like no other! From Fortnite to GTA V, there are tons of online games that are perfect for playing with friends, so make sure to give them a try.

Record your gameplay

Everyone wants to win when they play online. After all, it’s one of the worst feelings in the world when you try your hardest but end up losing to your opponents or finishing rock bottom on the leaderboards. If you find that this is happening to you a lot, you should try recording your gameplay so that you can watch it back and see where you need to improve. PlayStation 5 and XBOX Series X/S come with built-in gameplay recording options that you can activate using your controllers, whereas most smartphones also come with stock screen recording options. On PC, though, you’ll usually have to download video capture software to record your gameplay.

Download free DLC

DLC (downloadable content) has become insanely popular in the gaming universe. Now, almost all mainstream games come with the option for players to download DLC. Sometimes, DLC can be expensive (such as on Call of Duty games), but it’s occasionally available for free.

Whatever your favorite games are, check out your platform’s store to see if there is some free DLC available for you to download, from character skins to bonus weapons.

Use companion apps on your smartphone

Companion apps are great for improving your online experience. In case you don’t know, companion apps are usually free apps that you can download from your mobile app store. They work as extensions of console and PC games. For example, Star Wars Battlefront (popular on PlayStation and XBOX Consoles) has a free companion app – Star Wars™ Battlefront™ Companion – that you can download to track your stats, earn in-game credits, and much more.
