5 reasons to use computers in education

5 reasons to use computers in education

January 25, 2019 Posted by Abigail Massimo Editorial 4 Comments

Computers are everywhere. Today, in the United States, professional institutions provide at least one device for every five students. Find out how technology in education is transforming the whole process of learning.

Do computers really help you to study?

Not so long ago, students had to carry dozens of books with them, handwrite term papers and dissertations, brows half a library in search of the right literature, etc. Now books can be loaded onto a tablet or laptop; articles can be typed in Word; grammatical, stylistic and other errors can be checked in online checkers, and a necessary page of printed text can be copied or taken a photo of with your phone. And, of course, progress does not stand, and every day more and more advanced technologies come to the aid of undergraduates.

ONLINE EDITORS

Of course, Word corrects mistakes, but only grammatical and punctuation ones. In order to check the style, you should use some of the online editors. Grammarly will cope with the English language (check out this review of Grammarly), and Orfogrammka will cope with Russian. And for those who want to find out why you need to write this way, and not otherwise, there are a lot of online websites, all sorts of rules and answers from expert philologists.

INTERACTIVE BOARDS AND TABLES

Interactive displays have made static reality more dynamic and vibrant. These technologies help students create team projects, use visibility in presentations, and in general, make learning more diverse and exciting. And this is a good thing because it increases students’ engagement in the educational process and makes them more diligent and attentive to deadlines. With such tools no need to scan many a bid4papers review in search of a reliable writing agency to complete writing tasks on time.

VIRTUAL REALITY (VR)

Extended reality is a thing, which makes interesting not only a visit to a museum but also a lecture on abstract concepts. Despite the fact that VR is still used quite rarely in education, there are already a couple of exciting developments. The Sky Map application allows students to learn about the night sky in search of constellations, but it will take a long time before the integration of such applications comes to schools. Extended reality should delay and possess hints for all cases of reference to real objects.

For instance, Karen Schrier from the USA has invented a game, through which she has been telling her students about the famous battle of Lexington for several years. With the help of an app on the cellphone, students move around the true battlefield, participate in the battle and independently try to answer questions that still cause controversy among American historians.

SMART CAMPUS

Progress has reached even the buildings of educational institutions – however, so far only to the US. A smart campus is a new approach to the organization of an educational process. The point is that when entering the institute a special device reads information about the person, and the undergraduate is immediately sent individual reminders – schedules, examinations and tests results, messages from teachers, etc.

ALWAYS IN TOUCH

Some universities use computers to exchange information between students and professors in electronic form without going online. They operate on energy-efficient long-range networks.

I think computers do have value in the classrooms across the world. It is always welcoming to see one because of the efficiency of using it. Furthermore, this is a pretty good list. I would not have imagined VR being used to showcase a battle! Furthermore, it seems as though computers will only grow up from here and be more necessary than ever.

True, computers help us a lot in the study. With the help of computer, we learn many things at home. With a computer, we can easily learn many new topics online just in few clicks.

I can not imagine how you can learn without a computer in the 21st century. Now self-education plays a very large role, and without access to the Internet, this is impossible. Thank you for the article.
