Streamers choosing Twitch over YouTube, with live gambling proving a popular watch

Welcome to another entry in our ongoing look at the intersection of casinos and gambling with technology.

With its easy usability, integration with popular services and consoles, and major live videogame-centric streamers like Pewdiepie and h3h3productions moving a lot of their activity from YouTube, it’s no surprise that Twitch continues to grow wildly in popularity. What perhaps is surprising is that one of the fastest growing categories on Twitch is streaming of casino gaming, be it for slots, poker, or any other number of other video gambling activities. Just like in real life, there’s something exciting about watching someone play skill- and luck-based games with real monetary stakes. The Casino twitch platform is a great learning service which can assist player’s over gaming rules and techniques, through a visual representation, rather than reading advice from a guide.

Simply searching on "Casino" can yield a lot of results.

Simply searching on “Casino” can yield a lot of results.

Interestingly, Twitch is also a great way to preview how these online casinos work. For instance, with LeoVegas, a mobile gaming, online casino, and sports betting service, you can see its table games, video slots, progressive jackpots, video poker, and live betting in action risk-free. Naturally, even if something like LeoVegas is not available in your area – and not all gambling sites are – you can still get a good sense of how these things work by watching other, often talented players, work their magic.

Similarly, searching on "gambling" can also prove fruitful.

Similarly, searching on “gambling” can also prove fruitful.

Here are some sample videos of past broadcasts to get an idea of what we’re talking about:

As you can see, it’s pretty wild stuff. As we’ve talked about in the past, the security, technology, and options at these online and mobile gaming sites really do a surprisingly good job of keeping up with, and sometimes leading, the state-of-the-art. And streaming services like Twitch really do help take away some of the intimidation factor.
